Flat Battery - can I use jumper leads on my GT-R?

My battery is flat on my R33 GTR, with a power fc. can I use jumper leads to start it or should I take the battery out and put it on a charger?

you can use jumper leads or booster pack no problem.

the only problem u have is when u leave the jumper leads connected after u start the car for a long time.

If your car has an immobiliser/alarm, I suggest you switch it off before you try and jump start the car.

If you want to connect the leads to your testicles, I suggest you remove your chastity belt.

so whats with the people that say dont jump start your import as you can fry the FC/computer? Is this an urban myth?

-don't know, but yesterday after I used jumper leads to start my car it was running rich as all hell, car had been sitting unstarted for probably 3 months, drove it around for about 1/2 hour and is still running like shit? - was perfect before. When I jump started it i had the other car turned off which can help avoid a power spike, it didn't have enough grunt to fire it up, so I then started the other car and let it run for a while, it then started fine.

then after a drive for sometime it got better then back to normal

had to jump start my car the other day... with an old Datto... had to rev the snot out of the little datto motor to get my car to fire!

-seems to be the case, took it for a real short drive and it ran like shit (driving like miss daisy because I thought the Power fc may have lost its memory or something) as I drive it more and a bit harder it seems to be getting back to normal.
