I don't think bombs will help.

The media has beat this thing up into a huge event, rather than another drug trial. I havn't heard anything to make me think she is guilty, but that might be because the media has only shown one side. I doubt she knew about the drugs, but she was found guilty of transporting it through a customs area.

I don't think taking pot to Bali is a good idea, I mean its apparently cheaper to buy over there. It like me going to the US, and trying to import Kangaroo's into Australia loosing heaps of cash.

The laws in Bali vary from ours, and under this system she was found guilty by a judge who has never found anyone innocent in a drug trial in over 20 years!

But if she wasn't a hot young aussie, we wouldn't even know about it. She'll end up back in Australia I imagine, if she isn't given a pardon.

Just a personal opinion, but I dont see why people think shes not guilty. Besides her "im not guilty" pleas, what hard facts have been shown to proove she is innocent?

Bali laws are -exactly- the same as our local laws for drug trafficking. If youre caught its a case of guilty until proven innocent. She had her shot at proving herself innocent and failed miserably. The media has hyped her up as being an innocent victim of something more sinister, however some small facts which were not hyped up in the media (it wouldve ruined her innocent, never done anything bad image) were;

- Multiple immediate family members convicted for drug trafficking and usage, weapons related offences etc.

- Personal acquantinces of hers have spoken out about her "parties", in which copious amounts of marajuana and cocaine were readily availible, provided by her and her friends.

Those two facts make me believe she is guilty, and of course if youre facing a possible death penalty youre going to plead innocent. As far as im concerned she took 4kg of a class 1 drug into a country which rewards you with the death penalty if caught... she got off damn lightly.

I think the whole thing is surrounded by weirdness. Mystery gold coast businessmen, cons wanting to testify, baggage handlers in camel suits etc and then most of us really don't know ALL the evidence. Had the parasites er media reported all of the evidence ie bad as well as good some of us might think differently.

Anybody wanna make a movie?

shes not guilty.

i just did an interview with senator Bob Brown. he didnt say anything new, but he did say that if it were held in an australian court, she would not have been found guilty. the judge incharge of the case actually ignored alot of the evidence put forward to him by the australian government. all the stuff about baggage handlers were looked at, but not taken into consideration.

see, the indonesian court system is guilty until proven innocent, not the reverse, which is what we enjoy here in australia. they werent able to prove her innocent.

No we dont. If you are caught trafficking narcotics into Australia, it is guilty until proven innocent.

It's all too confusing if your not in the court room from day 1 to execution. But spose were all entitled to an opinion.

If it was your own daughter would views change ? Is there really undisputable evidence that the girl is guilty. DNA, Film.

Whats CSI doing ? or is it the next episode.

Sure as sh!t someone will make a fortune from this.

Sorry guys but in "Western" justice systems we have cases like this heard before a jury in which the term "Reasonable Doubt" is the basis for decision.

Indo Police did NOT print the bag.

Indo Police did NOT wear gloves whilst handeling the evidence.

Australian baggage handlers HAVE been charged with trafficking drugs on the same day in the same airport.

A key witness HAS testified that the drugs were placed by baggage handlers in SYD airport.

......................

If that is not REASONABLE doubt that she didnt do it... I dont know what is!

Oh and on her history and her family. Absolute cr*p! Has she been convicted of any drug charges before? NO. So is there any implications based on prior conviction? NO.

Charachter and Associates are weak weak arguments in a court of law.

If the exact same case was heard before an Australian court, and the defendent was indo... They would be walking free right now.

Oh and one more thing to think about before my rant is over:

"In my opinion she should have pleaded guilty to a lesser charge in the begining... Like blowing up a nightclub!"

good work mark :(

i recokn she was a bit stupid, her boogie board bag wouldnt have weighed much, and adding 4 kilos to not much is noticable weight, she should have picked up her bag, felt the extra weight and told the authorities straight away,

spewing for her she got 20 years but.

Hey SupaFly, I don't think after a long flight I'd notice a few extra kgs really... especally if I hadn't seen the bag in hours.

Also I have some family I'm related to closley I'm not so proud of, it doesn't mean I'm a criminal, or should be treated any differently in a court. If Corby's day had 2 grams of pot 30 years ago, who cares?

I really don't beleive that she is guilty at all. I think that there is a pretty obvious story here, especally considering the drug ring that was recently busted.

The court system over there sounds fully crazy, and that fact the judges didn't even look at the evidence given by our government not only shows a lack of respect, but a judge whom isn't interested in the case.

It appears in their eyes that they need someone to punish for a given crime. During the reading the judge said that Corby had carried the drugs through custom, therefore she was guilty. Even though she didn't know it was there.

it may not be the right person - justice has somehow been completed.

Well... ive just heard...

her brother picked up the bag first.... so she wouldnt of felt the difference in weight... also they have video fottage of the law people asking if the bag was hers, she said yes and opened it to see the drugs.. She then quickly closed it and her face went white... This evidence wasnt accepted in court

There was other evidence to prove her innocence, but wasnt accepted into the court.
