im considering buying a stock R32 GTST and i was wondering as i know the cars history it hasnt been flogged alot what is the biggest power gain for the least ammount of money you can get from this car? it already has slight suspension work and GTR bodykit with rims so it look sweet but it is a little slow because the whole engine is standardwhat do you guys/girls suggest? i have about 5 grand to play with im thinking of big turbo and second hand intercooler can the stock internals handle a TD06 ? thats what i have in mind any other suggestions?

5 grand, hey? car's completely stock?

well the response you get will vary but here's what i think based on what i have done myself, and what i have read:

1. get a dyno run, check AFRs, check condition of engine $110

2. full service: oil, trans fluid, diff fluid, plugs $400?

3. cat-back exhaust: 3" mandrel bent. custom made. $600

4. front/dump pipe: off BATMBL for $250

5. high-flow 4" magic cat $500

6. bleed valve: wind boost to 12psi $50

7. FMIC: $400

8. FMIC piping: $300

9. dyno run again to check the AFRs and make sure its safe $110

10. turbo: HKS GT2530 and exhaust manifold $2000?

11. tune ECU $600

BUT you're 17 so i would factor in some life insurance if i were to do that...

alternatively you could spend about 1k and maybe do options 1-6 to the car and put the 4k left over towards a GTR when you're older...

doesn't a 2530 with a T3 flange bolt on to a 32gtst ? if so why would you need a new exhaust manifold ?

also are there limits to how far you can tune the stock ecu ?, if you can tune the stock one then why get a performance chip ? furthermore why get a powerfc ?

from what i have read it fits, but if you are going to upgrade a turbo why not spend a bit extra and do it properly (ie exhaust manifold too)?

most people get a power FC because it can be easily re-tuned, and/or the stock ecu on their car cannot be tuned

Waz.
