Vertical lines on windows

I did a search on this and there was another thread about it, but the question was never answered

How do you get rid of those vertical lines on the driver's/passenger's side windows?

I want to put tint on my car, but am thinking that whatever is causing these lines will ruin my tinting.

Has anyone had this problem and cured it?

Huh?? Are they just like rub marks on the glass when the window goes down, or are they like scored in the glass?

If its the former, its most likely the rubber window seals. Get some new ones fitted because they're probably muncing on the window.

you can take the runners off.. which causes the lines on the window but if you take off runners it sure will cause rattle when you oepn window half way...

or you just clean them b4 you get in the car and dont wind down the window....foever! :lol:

I get this problem as well. After a good wash they come good again.

Whoever tints your glass will make sure its clean and will tell you if the lines will be visible after the tint goes on. Go in and have a chat to them.

Get a good metallised scratch-resistant tint and it will take a long time for the lines to come back. You might still have to replace the tint after awhile, but one window probably only costs $50 to re-do.

yeah and also make sure you dont get sand on the runners which that will scratch your window and tint!

I'll ask at the tinting place when I get it done, and I might replace those seals aswell then.
