hey froggy

yeah mate you need the car if its the first time the cars going to have rego put on it, they need to see the engine number & VIN chassis number + watch they put the right build date on it .

I had a HR31 that was imported in 95 & the build date was put down as 95 it should of been 89

I disagree

Having recently registered a dodgy car, I can confirm that they no longer physically check the VIN etc.

You know why? Some bimbo DOT worker had a bonnet drop on her head while looking under the bonnet and made a WH&S claim.

I shit you not, I got the car phoneworthy, err I mean, roadworthy done and the guy was happier to pass a few questionable things based on the fact they wouldnt check. I went down and sure enough, they dont check :)

That was registering a non-registered car, although it had been registered in the past. However, they never asked about its previous registration so I doubt it matters whether its fresh into the country or not.

I guess ther might be some inconsistencies between transport departments. Of the vehicles I have also registered over this period I have never had one checked by QT. maybe different offices use different practices. Best option would be to contact your local QT department and ask if they need to inspect the vehicle as you are selling it and have no licence to drive it there. Plus you ar an orphan and have just moved from Arabia so have no friends to drive it either. lol
