Just thought this thread had to come along sooner or later...

Drifting,

What car do you drift with?

What mods you got?

How have you set it up?

Which track is your favourite drifting track?

Got some GT4 driftin pics?

Now as for me, in the fieild of drifting on this game, I kinda suck, ok, I really suck. I wanna set up my Stagea 260rs up for drifting, can someone tell me how to set this car up for drifting? Some settings?

Cheers,

Chris

i use my s5 white garage tuned rx7 that i won with the different coloured front and back rims...lol didnt need to do much to set it up, just tweeked the suspension setup and bought variable lsd.

fav track to drift on is the suzuka mini track, i can do perfect high speed drift off the straight into the first corner and continue the drift onto the second one..and so on. i just do a couple laps and then sit back and watch the replay:D

have tried wackin in a bigger turbo but that just messed the cars balance up. also found that if you drift properly on that track you can get the same times or faster than if you drove normally.

"original" parts from tuning houses are good, esp the original suspension upgrades, as they are very stiff. and don't require alot of setup for drift.... ohh yeah, and turn of ASM & TC. Also if you want a fast dori racer then the "original" or stage 5 turbo is good as it has a bucket load of low RPM pulling power.

I find the best is my 32gtst. Spring rates are around 13-14 and sway bars at level 6. Turbo is stage 4 or so oh and i give it heaps of initial torque on the adjustable lsd. The only probelm with the game is the steering is too slow, you cant change direction at the wheels fast enough. My fav. track is midfield, with its long sweeping bends you can carry some serious speed through those corners.

I played a bit of GT4 for the first time yesterday, and i was trying to drift the D1 4 door R34, it was almost impossible, i dont think i pulled off 1 good drift. you guys have got skill if you can get the hang of it

Pics eh..... pretty shit drfit but anyway

I hate to admit it but my fav car for drifting is the Lancia Stratos with full tune, etc on the track in Monaco ( can't remember the track name ). Before you throw rocks at me, spend an hour, buy and try the car ( if you've got a couple of extra credits to play around with ).

Turn it into a corner at speed, lift the off the gas drop down a gear and re-apply gas and there you have it.....instant drift  Soooooooo much fun !!!!!

You should play sega rally on saturn then. r0x0r

I like using the Bluebird SSS-X, everything modified to the max except leave standard gearbox and use the crappiest of the free tyres.

Suspension setup:

6.2kg front, 5.6kg rear.

4.5" camber front and 3" rear.

ride height low as possible.

It's a brilliant setup on tsukuba, and the car has a great balance.

gone the dori style with my favourite Toyota, a JZX 100 chaser,

original parts,

camber on 3.5-3 respectively

6kg front and back

sh!test of the sh!t economy tyres.

no aids (a must)

love the autum ring, nice quick tight corners to throw the fat mumma around. n she loves it

Sega rally on Saturn rocked! I still got it somewhere.

Sega what ?!?!

( Sorry, this PS2 is the first game station I've owned )

BTW How do you take those pics of the cars during the replays on PS2 ??

Sega Rally on Sega Saturn (released 1995)

Save your replay then play it in replay theatre, press select while its playing to take pics. Or just do a photo drive.

    • Knowing how slow their other compressors are that connect to the cars battery, you'd want to hope it's one hell of a slow leak!
    • So why can’t the front pipe just be listed as custom make? why does everything have to have a brand name to it? or if you have bought the car like this and have no idea about anything at all or no knowledge what so ever of parts how are you supposed to inform them of what it is you have exactly?
    • Yep, I'd be interested to hear how it works out in the end.
    • Because all parts that are put into your papers usually are assigned a badging if they did not come with one. So other people can just check that badging to tell if it is the parts your papes outline. But my pipe has NOTHING on it whatsoever. No idea why this even passed as a Mines pipe to begin with. I see this going two ways: -nobody cares and it's a non-issue, but that is unlikely -the pipe will just have to be assigned a bagding, for sake of argument, a Mines logo, and the papers corrected accordingly If it interests you I will post what the actual solution ended up being. All I care about is that it has to sound equal length and nobody can screw me later on because of a pipe being illegal.
    • The fasteners to the pipe are not subject to TÜV I guess, if we really start putting nuts and bolts through technical tests I'm going to hang the people responsible and then myself. Usually on a modern-ish EU normed car, you would just replace the pipe. Because if you start hacking away at it and welding new pieces on the cops will definitely find a reason to tow your car. That is just how it is sadly. On old cars and imports with no clear "standard" stuff like that won't matter too much. Most cops or inspectors probably won't even really know what they are looking at. But there is experts for this stuff even among cops, and some of them know the rules to a T and even have extensive knowledge about many vehicles. For "just a pipe" to be legal it usually is included in a set of parts, like a complete intake kit or a full exhaust. For example my exhaust needs to pass a noise test, meaning they have a standardized test track with a set of instructions and they run the car through there 3x for an average noise value that is 75dB(a) at point x of the test track. If it's above that, fail. For a turbo setup to be put in your papers you have to do dyno runs, emissions testing etc. So quite costly
