I can do it for you man

I do all my own repairs to fibreglass

How bad is the damage

My front and rear bar had shitloads of drift damaged done to them, im surprised the things even held together on the ship to australia

I have the necessary stuff to do a paintjob aswell, but you are probably better getting someone else to do it

THe damage seems pretty minor man

I would probably just try to get some touch up paint and paint over the cracks for the time being

I could put some fibreglass on the bottom side to re-enforce it if you wanted but i would probably leave it until you totally ripped the front lip off on some big arse nasty kerb.

Anyone that fixes that is going to charge you way to much

if you want me to quickly re-enforce it for you let me know

send me an email at [email protected]

mmm not too bad of damage. it is possible to repair the crack yourself. use a fiberglass kit from say supa cheap auto on the back and fill the front with a bit of bog. smooth it out and send it off to a smash repairers for a proper paint finish or you can get a can of gloss black and spray it yourself.

i would recomend bruce as well but damn it takes a long time to get stuff done. took me 2 months of going in there to repair my front spoiler and then said it was going to get replaced then i took it home and fixed it myself. took a while and its not the best but that is what you get for a rushed job and little skill. only cost about $40 too

well, my lovely front bar as seen above is now not so lovely.. someone felt it needed some cracks in it, so now it needs to be repaired, thank god i didnt get it painted :(

are you serious, did you leave it in a carpark and someone took to it and broke it, man that has to suck balls big time, i just got a new frount bar and ive already smashed it twice on kerbs, but only poped out and cracked were the screws near the wheel arch hold it, but if someone intentionly cracked it then goes to show there are some serious crack heads out there

Drkside

if you want my bf can repair and paint it for you.  can clear out all the other small chips from the front bar too.

we can work out a price if you like just PM if ur interested.

Cheers

Cheers Peta,

I touched it up myself yesterday, but if I can get it done properly and get rid of tha chips it'd be better.

Yep. Straight into it when I was parking!

I did the exact same thing about 2 years ago.. a few months after buying the car. I've had it gaffa taped up until about 2 months ago when i took it off and fibreglassed it myself. Very easy and cheap ($20 for fibreglass repair kit from supercheap auto)

All i have to do is putty over it with body filler and sand, prime then take it somewhere to spray some black over the top. I was quoted abour $100-$125 for a few coats of black from local spray shop if i do the sanding/priming.. probably a cashie

    • Hey all, not sure how active SAU is anymore but will ask away anyways. Just wanted to get some experience on the 2008 model GTR CBA model.  I've hit that age in my life (43) where I'm like fk it time to get my dream (midlife crisis) car. Looking at importing one in and seeing if these can be reliable if the main flaws are fixed up. Plan is to keep money aside to do the following straight off the bat to future proof it: * install a stage 1 rebuilt trans with all new bits and pieces.  * install a new Bellhousing from the later model GTRs. Or potentially an upgraded stronger version like MAD or ATR. Besides the above two things and typical maintenance items anything else you'd recommend doing.   Been speaking to a few people and the engine on these are very reliable apparently. But keen on the view of the community here. Hoping to find a nice grade 4.5 with low mileage in Grey. I'd go black but swirls too easy. Look forward to your responses and feedback. Cheers
    • Do Alan and Keith work on Skylines now? I remember buying stuff from them when I owned my Ralliart Lancer a few moons ago. Definitely genuine guys and be excellent if they dealt with the skyline platform as well.
    • Hey all, I'm Gaston from Sydney's West.  I was a member on here when I was a younger lad and owned a mint R33 GTS-T. Ended up selling it and getting married having kids (yadda yadda) we all know how the story goes. Now I'm back with the intention to get my midlife crisis (dream) car ... a R35 GTR.  You'll see me about asking questions and searching the forums. Good to be back and can't wait to get back an Import again.
