Ive got a 3 inch dump from the turbo to a 3 inch cat. Im looking at the split dumps where the wastegate is seperated from the turbine and reconnects about 40cm later. Im trying to understand it, but if im running 19psi, the wastegate is closed so how do i get more performance? Or does the wastegate slightly open over 19psi therefore the gases dont mix with the turbine gases straight away but being 40cm further would create less turbelance.

Any thoughts?

bass afaik the idea of an ebc is to not have the wg open at all until you hit max boost.

robo's re the long wg pipe, when your wastegate is venting fully (at max boost) it figures that you're also at max power and therefore pushing max gas out of the turbo and into the exh pipe. that's when you want best flow ie least backpressure. joining the paths of the wg and exh gas creates back pressure as it impedes the exhaust flow. moving the junction further down the exh pipe reduces this effect, in theory the best set up is the screamer where the wg pipe does not join the exh at all.

I've got a split dump/front and can only speak highly of it. Gained around 10rwkw from this pipe alone ove stock. I dunno how much of a gian you'll get if you already have a larger dump, but the reduction in turbulance theory certainly makes sense...
