Car looked mean with the green :Pimp2:

Hey Stuart is it just me or does the car seem to go better when your behind the wheel???

BOSS OF BASKY, Mark??? :matrix:

Congrats ont he title Mark, was good to watch a Liner tear it up against the rest of the rubbish that was out there on the track (must of been embarrassing for them really to go up against such a fine/prestige motor vehicle) :uh-huh:

Thanks, I am giving Benno and boys a hard time about my win as Benno couldn't beat some bucket of puss Torana last season and kept telling everyone how good he is.

On the perception of car speed, you have obviously been misled by the Benno self publicity machine! He never tells anyone that he didn't have to race outright against the quick cars like myself previously, taking the soft option of Group B(which he didn't win) and that he got Andrew Kuc to give him an extra 30kw at the wheels as well just to make sure.

Two important facts that the world needs to know!!

I managed a 61.2 last Sunday and my total race times were over 5 seconds faster, which is faster than the Blonde Boy Wonder has gone around there in anything!! Not bad seeing I was lying in bed with a broken neck this time last year after our crash in Targa (Benno loves it when I talk about the neck!!)

He might be quicker, who knows. We'll find out when/if he brings the GTR out to play??

In the meantime, 2-1st's, 3-2nd's, 2-3rd's and a 4th from 8 starts means that I'm the Boss of Targa Class and I had to beat much better cars than Benno has ever raced against.

Lastly, I'm also leading the CAMS State Series for Targa Cars by 5 points from not one but two Porsche's!! Go the Skyline, complete with tiny RB20 running a meagre 170kw at the wheels!!

Good luck this weekend Benno, please don't crash

How did you go??

Benno went pretty good for a first up. Was running 5th before a minor off caused some intercooler problems putting them out. Ran at a good pace yesterday annd made sure that the Skyline Brigade was well represented.

He's back tomorrow so no doubt will post a full report in the coming days for anyone who's interested.

The sad news is the Skyline `Reign of Terror' came to an end and Porsche are back in town, at least until next we meet at Rally Tas 2006!!

look forward to hearing about it.

sounds like Ben was going well pity htey had to retire

We were seeded 18th for Leg One, on the first stage we ran the 8th quickest time, then that again on the next. Without actually knowing where we sat I pushed on and we got a bit quicker with consistently running the 5th quickest times. I was surprised by this at lunch and would have been happy to maintain the pace, which we did for the rest of the afternoon until a Left 2 that went from dry to damp to wet bought me undone. I couldn't grab the rear in time and we went around, but the time we stopped I had washed off most of the speed and just touched the dirt bank at no more than 5-6k's. That was enough to bust the headlight on the right side and push the bumper back enough to pull the intercooler hose off and strip the thread on the hose clamp. We went back continued on to service (at the end of the stage) but found the only way to fix it was to pull the bumper off. By the time we had fixed the clamp and re-installed the bumper we were out of service and late time so withdrew from the day and transported back to Burnie.

We restarted the next day seeded 9th but with knackered brakes so used the day as practice. Not sure how our times looked for that day, but they would have been well of, we were loosing at least 1-1.5sec a corner, but it was fun.

Have now organised some bigger front brakes and better intercooler hose clamps so can't wait for Rally Tasmania in Feb. I'll run it in the Minna Rd and Domain Hillclimbs between there and now and maybe a round of the Octagon Series.

In responce to 26motorsports's claims.....

Its true, I mean how could the an R32 GTSt 1200kg/199kws beat a Holden Torana with a 6 litre engine producing 350kw (at the wheels), but of course it did, repeatedly, particularly the longer 15 lap races, three out of four from memory... Perhaps not in outright speed, but by the rules of the game!

Contrary to what Mark says, I did in fact win the TDRC Octagon Series - Targa Tasmania Group B, ask Jim Richards…. he was at the dinner and presented me with the trophy from memory!!.... big golen cup, perhaps 26motorsport is talking about the glass trophies?! (have got a couple of those from the rounds too!!)

The car had 199kws when I had, and that was just with some new spark plugs!…. It even had that when I gave it back…who knows that you have done to it since then, oh that’s right, you striped a heap more weight out of the car, that’s probably why its going faster!!

To settle this once and for all I think we need the Benno v Perrywinkle Battle!!

Ps. I went around Basky with a .59 in a GT3….. sorry, did I have to be driving it?!!

Pps. Where were Whitey, Laws, PJ, Keytesie and Greg in the points score when you won Boss of Baskerville again?.... sorry, but did they even enter?

;)

    • Hey all, I'm sorry if this has been discussed before.  I have a 2008 Japanese import V36 coupe with nav but without Bose. I bought one of those AliExpress android screens, which for the most part works really well.  The only thing that doesn't work is the air con controls (well sort of) and the factory reverse camera.  The AC can be controlled fine but it doesn't report the change in temp and mode to the screen, and the volume knob/other audio controls from the panel don't register on the learning app.  I am pretty certain that the problem is the difference in the head unit between base model (Nav but no Bose) 2007-2009 coupes and anything after 2009.  Mine is the one with the blue connector all the way to the right as seen in this forum post:  The reason I think this is there is one wire left over that doesn't fit anywhere on this head unit, or in the factory screen which also uses different connectors to more recent versions.  I've seen the upgrade from OWC, and have sent the guy a message on eBay but no response yet.  I also don't particularly need the whole kit, just *maybe* an adapter for this one cable.  Did anyone else here have the same problem, or have any insight about what I can do to get this working?  I have been in contact with the seller but all they seem to be able to do is ask for more pictures and videos. Minor edit to add:  I have been researching and found a screen on Aliexpress that actually specifies my head unit in the listing, so these things do exist.  I will contact the seller to see if the wiring adapters are interchangeable with other screens.   Thanks in advance!
