Hi guys (i'm based in Sydney),

I've got an R32 GTR with the below mods:

- HKS GTRS turbo's

- Tomei pon cams 260'

- 700cc injectors

- Nismo afm's

- Trust sump kit

- Apexi PFC

exhaust etc...

Now its time for a dyno tune by either Bel Performance & Croydon Racing Development.

I need to make a decision by Monday so who best to ask other than GTR customers that have actually utilised dyno tuning services by the above workshops.

I need feedback, criticism & honesty so please all posts welcome ;)

My decision making will be based on this thread.

Regards,

Marko

Hey Marko, as you know my car is at BEL right now.... and with their new workshop I am sure they will be doing a good job!

they were even so kind as to open up at 7pm on a sunday night so I could drop the car off prior to going away for work....

I think you would be more than happy with the personal service you will get...

Hey Marko,

I've known Ben and Eric at BEL for a while now and they have always been the most helpful. I bought a power fc second hand from one of their other customers which was road tuned and plugged it in my car and it was perfect. Fantastic air/fuel ratios made 226 kw at all 4 wheels on 1 bar. I'll stop babling, they are great tuners.

thx guys for the feedback.

williams f1 (ben) i saw ur car there tonight, the wheels look nice!

wrxhoon & mik (father & son right?) my setup is very similar to your r33, ben mentioned u cracked an 11.3, great result, i would be very happy with that in my car.

gtr fan (is this steve, i bought the injectors from u right?)

now i need to make my own decision, i've posted this in another sub-forum on the sau site, on the other side of the fence they all think crd is pick...what to do hmmm...

clarity is what im seeking

G'day Marko,

good to see you liked the wheels! should have the RE55's on there in July!!!!

I think the guys at BEL are taking a big step up in the tuning world by having the in house dyno, and should be a force to be reconned with once the workshop is fully set up!

how was my car looking? Im away (in HK right now) and back on the 7th so they have plenty of time to get it working perfect!

I think they have a great balance in price and in quality of workmanship....

main motivation was to be able to have someone that will listen to what you want, and that they would have care for the equipment....

also they responded fast with any questions asked with quality info....

oh and Jerry said they are guns!

hope they sort out the little quirks you always have when adding so many new things to a car!

for one the boost comp (blitz SBC R) I have no idea how to work as yet..... but they do!

value and quality.....

I felt CRD are great! but may lack in care factor....

Marko,

Just a friendly mod suggestion. Please post just once in the future when you'd like to know something. There is some great input from people over your two separate threads and I'm sure it would be easier for you (and everyone) to read if it was in the one thread.

As for weighing into this debate, I have a mate who took a lightly modded GTST to BEL and got great results. I also know someone who took a heavily modified GTR to CRD and got great results...

Vijay

Hi Vijay,

Reason i posted 2 threads was to hear both sides of the story which i knew i would get as a result (now proven), i also mentioned in the thread that i have 2 posts on the same subject but yes your suggestion also works.

crd or bel - i think at the end of the day nothing negative can be said about either of the 2

now comes down to how much will i spend on the tune?

I think the question you need to ask is who knows the RB26 better.... sure its not as cut and dried as just pressing buttons, but at the end of the day anyone can tune a computer given some time to figure it out...... its whether they know whats best for your engine, that is what you should be asking.

bel has a better care factor for sure!

i could go on about crd but it is not allowed on this forum.

for a direct comparison of tunes a friend recently got a crd pfc tune(along with other stuff he bought), seemed ok did not ping but also did not make good power, power came on hard then died off early in the rev range, seemed peaky.

got car retuned at bel as he was unhappy with the tune, still no pinging with new tune, but power comes on very smooth and early, and pulls harder to higher revs, which was obviously nicer(faster!)

Yeah Bel's cust service is awesome, as is their turnaround times etc. My ceffy gets all its work done at them, and to date they've been very helpful and they know their shizzle when it comes to RB's.

CRD though has more experience in high power tuning and has had more exposure... so hard call...

    • The hot exhaust light will come on not from just the cat being blocked, but it's just a temp sensor, and it's designed to warn you to not do things like park in long grass.   If you've been pushing the motor a bit, it can cause the light to come on.   Second if the cat is rattling, I'd suspect it's not blocked, but instead falling apart inside.   The easiest "fix" until you can get a cat put back in, is to unbolt your one, bash the rest of the insides out, and then bolt it back in.   For a daily driver/street car, I am in agreeance of put a cat in the car. If it were race car I wouldn't care if it were removed.
    • No worries at all 🫡 I think the most satisfying things to make are the little bits that are just impossible to find or they're no longer manufactured. Generally I always try to replace parts with OEM wherever possible. This little project is also great because it'll never see the light of day, but strengthen these brackets so it's not just relying on the little standard screws in the headlight plastic. As soon as I saw the standard brackets and screws I thought, "well I'm not going to install with just the screws, the plastic tabs will just snap off". It's crazy how expensive everything has become yeah. But I suppose that's supply and demand; granted it's a lot easier to get brand new genuine parts these days which is fantastic 😊, I don't have to get totally reamed at the local Nissan dealer ha ha We sure are lucky we have all these manufacturers making parts these days, a few really great Australian companies too like Platinum Racing Products and Fit Mint Automotive, what a time to be alive ❤️ . I've got my eye on the RB26 head by PRP as mine has a very fine hairline crack, so that'll need to be addressed some time in the future. If you have any requests or odd things to make feel free to let me know and I can have a crack at making replacement parts ✌️
    • Thanks for sharing this, and BTW if your headlights are in good condition they are worth thousands....you might want to consider replacing them with brand new LED ones like this (https://www.nengun.com/78works/full-led-headlights-r32-skyline) and making enough profit to buy a house in Sydney
