Best to do a search, but you'll find GT2540s are a little mistmatched for a stock(ish) motor, better off with GT2530s, GT-SS generally.

get 2530's .. i have a complete DVD all about the mines r34 GTR> goes for around 1 hour.

that thing is so nuts.. you guys havnt seen all of its glory YET!

2530's!!x2

On the GT2540, the decision you have is what power do you want and what is your use - street, track or drag...?

I have 2x GT2540 and had HP drop off at 7000 rpm. I use it for street / track. Pressure management showed that the 3.5" Blitz turbo back exhaust was restricted at the cat and muffler. The turbos are at full boost by 4250 rpm. But...I have full forged internals.

Stock internals, I agree with Morgs. Stock you can push 330 wKW with a pair of GT2530s. But you cannot run this power reliably for track use - you will run lean in cylinder 6 and even with a power FC you will get pre-det once the engine bay, induction and track temperature rises.

If you plan for forged internals, increase intercooler and radiator size and add an oil cooler I would go GT2540s. You will run max HP spread from 5500 - 8500 with a 4" turbo back exhaust.

thanks for your reply guys. i hav stock internals and only plan for street use (weekends mainly) one guy told me the 2540's were quite laggy compared to 2530's which makes street driving terrible.

and that stock internals may not handle the full force of 2540's??

im getting my car dyno'd with

pod filter

exhaust (twin 2 1/2" all the way)

apexi cooler

pfc

for now hoping around 220awkw

my goal eventually be around 300-330 with the turbos, injectors, fuel pump.

Full boost by 4250 rpm with 2540's???? Have you got a dyno graph to prove this?? Yet later in the post you say you get max HP spread from 5500 - 8500rpm??? I'm confused...

Also forged internals will not help you with response, its just stronger!!!

From talking to hundreds of people, 2540's are very laggy on a 2.6, and the response could well be non existant!!!!

If anything wouldnt forged internals decrease response? Due to making the rotating assembly heavier?

I don't know about yours, but my forged internals are much lighter than the cast ones I replaced.:P

so in theory lets say drag wouldnt the 2540's be a better choice because of the hi-rev launch?

Still dop off boost on the upchanges. It's all about the average power available/used on the run. The max power at one rpm point is irrelevant.:P

well the main reason im asking is that my engine is getting rebuilt and i hav a pair of 2540's doing nothing at the moment. At the moment i really cant afford the 2530's so i figure the 2540's will be much better than the stock gtr turbo's? correct me if im wrong.

What are you getting done to the engine? A bit of extra capacity will help the poor old 2540's. As would some more compression, a set of mild cams, gapless rings, ceramic coating the combustion chambers, exhaust ports and the piston crowns. Maybe power port the exhaust manifolds and a set of split dumps are a must (not those short ones, the combined dump and engine pipe style). Basically anything that makes more exhaust flow:cheers:

when i got the car dyno'd i realised the rings were shot. couldn get much rwkw out of the little sucker. so to cut a long story short i need to rebuild the beast. forgies i reckon will be on the list!! make use of the 2540's no cash after the rebuild to get any thing else. perhaps raising the revs to 8500rpm should help them flow better.

    • I like mine. Much better than stock. Like i said before the reverse/parking cameras look even worse than normal, still useable. When you buy one make sure it's the latest version. Heaps of cheap ones that run the old hardware and software. Got mine from AliExpress. Mine is quick no lag, boots up 1-2 sec. Menu is fast. Netflix is fine and so is YouTube. Android Auto is random taking 3sec to 15sec. Most of the time it's quick. Very rare it doesn't connect. But that could be a phone thing.   Now I think they use a Pixel 3XL to run this whole thing which i guess is fine, but the problem is that some apps will not work on old hardware like Disney Plus  Maybe Prime Video too 🤔. they will not update. Iv'e tried getting the APK Disney + but i still couldn't get it working. I have a Data sim installed so i have internet all the time. You can't Hotspot off your phone and connect Android Auto at the same time. Not that you need too, if you want you can hotspot off your phone and run any internet map app (google maps) and you can run the Spotify app on it's own (the app runs better than android auto) You can still access the INFINITI intouch system for all the o.g stuff    P.S i got new non Polarization Sunglasses too 😎
    • I also don't mean to rain on your parade. But with a 5-10k budget for road only? I'd want to check confirmation that everything IS working correctly and I'm with @GTSBoy for a plan of action here. I'd be checking subframes, bushes, exhaust hangers, interior bits and generally QOL things and CONFIRMING they are working right before thinking about motor. You can get 250KW+ on stock RB26 hardware by simply removing the built in restrictors and tuning the stock ECU. If you want purity that's as far to take it, which I would be worried to do and won't think the budget would allow for when earnestly checking for 30+ year old car stuff.
