just wondering how do cat back exhausts for HCR32 (GTS-t) and BNR32 (GT-R) differ? Or do they?

Reason I ask is that I'm after a new (can be second hand) cat back exhaust for my GTS-t. I'm finding it hard now as I've been waiting for a Fujitsubo unit but unfortunately that's fallen through, so now I'm looking around but the only things really available are GT-R ones. Any help would be most appreciated.

The guy at Xspeed told me that a HKS High Power for a GTR would fit my gtst but i found out later that it would fit, with minor modification. bottom line, if you've got a gtst get an exhuast specifically made for it preferably jap brand.

Any luck on the search so far CerealKiller???

Im in the market for a aftermarket exhaust for my R32 GTS-t as well. After getting some quotes today i can't believe what they want.

I said to one guy after giving me his quote that i already owned the car and didn't want to buy it again :chairshot

$3300 for an exhaust  "tell him he's dreaming"

I would have to disagree and say that a cat back R32GTR exhaust will fit, and is the same as, an R32GTSt.

My exhaust has the same part number as an R32GTSt:

http://www.trust-power.com/nissan/skyline/...r_powevoII.html

and i'm pretty sure you'll find the same for other jap brands too

:)

Most skylines (r32,33,and maybe34) will interchange. Its just the hangers (bits that go up to the rubbers to hang the exhaust on the car) need changing. Its not a hard job at all to cut a piece of rod and weld a new one in.

Silvia exhausts fit too....s13 for example is the same as r32, but will require the hangers changed. Its only a few mm longer at the tip thats different.

Categorically NO.

My R33 and R32 exhaust shapes (both Trust TRs) were completely different in bends and length.

As I understand 33 and 34 exhausts are not interchangable either.

I got an r33 cat back system on my r32....what more can i say ;)

What sort of clearances do you have? Does it hang down?

32s have more bends to keep them tight to the floorpan. My 33 was much straighter than my 32 one.

Sure, you can change any system to suit a similar car, but are you compromising on a 'perfect' fit?

In that case i'm wrong - so you can fit a 33 exhaust to a 32 with modifications.

My r32 aftermarket one was a stright pipe to the diff, then had a small kink to the muffler. It is a very straight cat back system and has good clearance. Its a 3" system.

My 33 one that is going on is a twin 2.5" system, and has a bend or two more, but will have more clearance again.

I find most things are not always a perfect fit, however there are exceptions. Like i said, with the exhausts they require the hangers to be cut and new ones welded. Not a hard job at all, and you can make the exhaust sit under the car where you like. If i didnt tell anyone i had a r33 system on they wouldnt know....

i had mine custom made

so i got a BRAND NEW exhaust with BRAND NEW stainless cannon muffler

3", large resonator, mandrel-bent

i paid $540 which obviously included install

how is that not better valve for money?

oh, and because its custom made, they were able to make it sit nice and high like the stock exhaust, making lowering the car a much mroe feasable proposition...

sounds pretty good to me, if i can get my exhaust done for that im laughing.

Is it very loud WazR32GTSt?

It can be hard to find a decent R32 exhaust.. a shop either wants buckets for their system (which may be not good for japanese car anyhow).. or straight new from japan (exxy..mostly the freight cost).. If you are on a bit of a budget its not the easiest, compared to the more common r33 exhaust.

anyhow, in the end was just easier to buy one of one of the guys on here as i know their car had some good power before they needed more.. if they would hurry up and pull it off their car! :( been waiting so long .. hint.. whinge, etc..

autobarn sell R32 trust power extreme exhausts for $899 in full stainless steel 80mm. Not too bad a price, see them advertised in the lastest HPI mag.

we got our S15 trust exhaust from autobarn- good service and delivery.....
