Hi all,

My R33 GTST is stock apart from; pod filter, 3" cat back exhaust and Hybrid BOV. With those mods my car was getting around 450 km's to a tank of premium.

Since i installed my hybrid Frount mount intercooler kit my car now only gets about 400 km's to a tank. I havn't blocked off any vaccum lines or anything and it all seems a bit odd as i thought a fmic would make the air/fuel burn better and therefore i'd be getting better mileage.

Could my stock ECU be getting confused? or is it just my right foot?

any thoughts?

Dave

i think thats possible, if worried look at fuel mapping

May sound like a dumb question, still kinda new to the turbo game but; is that done on a dyno or like one of those machines that some workshops have that check your ECU for faults? anyway thanks for the advice ;)

Bigger intercooler = in your case more power

More power = more fuel

Or it could just be that since you have installed the FMIC you've been givin' it stick.

Have been givin it a bit more stick since the FMIC install especially with these cold winter nights ;) but yeah i have a sneaking suspecision its running slighty richer

Cheers anyway

will definately be running richer as the ecu is still trying to run factory settings.

safc or chip can be used to alter your air fuel ratios which would definately help your fuel consumption and give a nice little gain in performance.

there is heaps of info round here, try a search

Mine ran richer I already had a SAFC got it retuned after the install made a noticable difference in performance.
