The tuner does not sound to cluey to me mate, I have a 25/35 and it made 233rwkw’s. I thought that was about the norm, plus I am only running 11psi.

Why would you stress the shit out of the engine for a few more kilowatts? It’s a small turbo that is designed to make about 220~230 on an RB25.

Running crazy boost like 17~18 psi on a standard engine and reving it out so far is only going to kill the engine and turbo in a hurry. Spinning the wheels is what HKS turbos do so get use to it

19psi is fine but i have my rev limiter set at 7000. Max power is at 5,700rpm, so going much past 6200rpm is a waste of time as i feel the power dropping off. Even if i took the rev limiter off, i doubt whether it would go to 9,000rpm.,

I dunno about ur car Robo, but mine reves till 9000 rpm and bounces off rev limiter. You can ask Sam and Duc (Nozila). They were with me in the car this afternoon when it hits 9000rpm. I think its my new splitfire direct ignition coils, and new irridium sparkies that allows me to do that. :D

i think i will ask the tuner to set my rev limiter so I do not overrev

Hmmm, Robo boosts up till 19 psi on his 2530.... I should be fine with 1.2 bars I believe! Hmmm, I think i will be a little gentle on my peddle in the future...no more 9000rpm....

yea well i've had some clown claiming that he did 24psi on a regular basis with a standard S14 turbo

oh the pain... a stock internal motor at 9000rpm... ouch

and I don't think 13psi through a HKS turbo could be classified as stock boost... it would be flowing a lot more air than the stock turbo at 13psi... correct me if I am wrong

please back the tune off a bit and spend some money on mods to keep the engine alive and the car out of the trees...

all that aside it sounds like an awsome setup, I am leaning heavily towards a similar setup and I can't wait;)

I would strongly recomend to NOT rev your car out to 9000 RPM. Especially with a stock bottom end.

My old setup had the bottom end completely bulletproofed and I still didn't take it past 7500. (With 330rwkw).

I once took it 9000rpm at a WSID meet - spun a bearing. Got the bottom end bearings (new) repaced - Put an oil cooler on and all good.

Seriously - if you want some more life outa your donk - DON"T rev it so much.

They are only looking out for you man through their own previous expiriences.... I have read stories of how much its costs to fix if something throws a leg outta bed. Look at it this way - The better you treat her, the better she will treat you.

Cheers

Would it not just be the engine management? In other words does the PowerFC have the redline set to 9000-RPM? That is part of the engine tune is it not? … RacePace set my redline to 7500-RPM. So you are making 230rwkw’s on 13psi, you hope to make 250rwkws at 19psi? On the stock internals 19psi is not okay despite what you might hear. I mean its okay if you drive off boost with a soft foot but who does that? A 2530 is not a Trust T88 turbo, its designed for low boost applications.

Also how long have you owned the car?

Ohh damn well you don’t understand why we are so concerned then, these cars are far from invincible ;( I also wondered why you were a little scared or worried about the traction loss :(

I have owned my car for just over 3 years now and lets just say I don’t have the original turbo or engine :D In fact I don’t think I have the original anything really!

Can a bloody stock RB25 even rev to 9000 rpm?

Most ive taken mine to was 7,000 rpm (not hittin the limiter) but I wudnt go ANY more at all. My old 32 with the RB25 I took up to 7,500 sometimes but that setup/tuning was much different.

9,000 rpm ur gonna see a conrod pokin its head outta the block soon buddy.

hahaha........wow........

I guess the car should still be alright right? All the mods like turbo, pfc ,coils injectors...etc were only installed last week.... Its just that I have never felt so much power b4 in a car that I had to go crazy at 9000rpm :(

I am sane now!!! Thank you all for caring for me and my ride. i am so touched. i wish I could kiss all you guys! Is there anything I can do for my car to say sorry to her???

    • There's a lot of drug money on that side of Sydney. Just sayin'.
    • At SMSP, I mainly see Hondas, M cars, A90 Supras and of course, plenty of Evos. Have not seen a single R32 ro R34 Skyline on the night sessions that I've been to. That's really saying something.
    • I like mine. Much better than stock. Like i said before the reverse/parking cameras look even worse than normal, still useable. When you buy one make sure it's the latest version. Heaps of cheap ones that run the old hardware and software. Got mine from AliExpress. Mine is quick no lag, boots up 1-2 sec. Menu is fast. Netflix is fine and so is YouTube. Android Auto is random taking 3sec to 15sec. Most of the time it's quick. Very rare it doesn't connect. But that could be a phone thing.   Now I think they use a Pixel 3XL to run this whole thing which i guess is fine, but the problem is that some apps will not work on old hardware like Disney Plus  Maybe Prime Video too 🤔. they will not update. Iv'e tried getting the APK Disney + but i still couldn't get it working. I have a Data sim installed so i have internet all the time. You can't Hotspot off your phone and connect Android Auto at the same time. Not that you need too, if you want you can hotspot off your phone and run any internet map app (google maps) and you can run the Spotify app on it's own (the app runs better than android auto) You can still access the INFINITI intouch system for all the o.g stuff    P.S i got new non Polarization Sunglasses too 😎
    • I also don't mean to rain on your parade. But with a 5-10k budget for road only? I'd want to check confirmation that everything IS working correctly and I'm with @GTSBoy for a plan of action here. I'd be checking subframes, bushes, exhaust hangers, interior bits and generally QOL things and CONFIRMING they are working right before thinking about motor. You can get 250KW+ on stock RB26 hardware by simply removing the built in restrictors and tuning the stock ECU. If you want purity that's as far to take it, which I would be worried to do and won't think the budget would allow for when earnestly checking for 30+ year old car stuff.
