Autosol seemed to work for me but not shiny enough.

It's a pity too cos I can't get out the mix of mouldy brake dust build up right on the inside of the dish.. I'm talkin bout thin strands but caked on and won't come off scrubbing at all! Need help getting them off (need something to scratch it off with but something that won't hurt the wheels.. i.e. not steel wool)

Ive got a set of Super Advan racing wheels with the dish and the dish is kind of tarnished. How do I "bling" it up? What product would you guys recommend.

I have the same wheels and had the same problem with mine. They have a clear coat over the dish so I used a paint stripper. I used a paint brush so I only stripped the clear coat and not the paint on the rest of the mag. Leave it on for a few minutes, then wash it off with a hose. You can then give it a polish and the end result is very good. The only problem with doing this is, without the clear coat, you get water spots that only come out with another polish. I spoke to someone at a paint supplier about this and he said there is a clear coat you can buy that is easy to apply and keeps the shine of the polish. Its about $100 so I havn't used it yet but i eventually will. I can give you the name of the paint stripper I used ( High grade stuff )and the clear coat tomorrow if you want.

hey guys get yourself some stuff called purple polish.....best stuff eva....good for chrome and alloy.....all metals. its a bit expensive but well worth it...

i have a mate who works for OMIKRON (they supply detailing stuff for the car industry) and they sell it bout $30 a bottle.

But if your in the city Call the head office.. they will be able to get you some...i dont know anywhere else you can get it....(02)9559 3366

Later

In future (when ur wheels are clean) u can try hosing down the wheels with truck wash...(i use something called CT-90 available from k mart)

ever wondered how those trucks with so much chrome manage to keep them clean despite doing so many miles? Cant imagine them going over those massive trucks with a sponge?

They dont...its just hose on...and hose off.
