TRUST/GREDDY TD-05 Turbo.. any good??

Recommended Posts

Okay.. Nengun have these for $1440 delivered.. now, for a brand spanking new turbo i'm thinking that's pretty good..

BUT.. are these a good performance upgrade? or is it worth hunting around for a GT2535? It'll be going on an RB20..

Any thoughts would be great.

There are also different exhaust sizes... so any opinions would be good on that too..

Thanks peoples.

Yeah dude if you can afford it go it. I have a GReddy TD-06 on my RB20 and this thing farking fly's.

It was set at just ver 1.5 bar when i picked the car up the other day (only just imported it) and it was crazy they way it just lights up the rear wheels. Have since cut boost back to 1bar and is still fun to drive.

Need a FMIC and an exhaust and i recon it will be good for over 200rwk's

Im going for 240rwk's.

I have seen Nengun's Trust prices too, which I thought looked very good.

Running an RB25, I think (not sure) the TD-06 is the better option, while the TD-05 is a better RB20 fitment. This would be for light-tune moderate powerups retaining factory-like boost thresholds.

My searching skills haven't really found any solid advice on exactly which spec Trust turbo suits which application and torque characteristics. There seems to be a range of different housing and wheel trim variations within each model turbo.

Also, is anybody aware whether Trust turbos come with oil and coolant lines as HKS do?

I haven't yet done any forum searches, but are there experiences/opinions about Trust turbos, especially matching them to the engine and whether they are a bolt-on replacement?

Are the td-05's still in production? I thought they had been superseded by the T517/8 series.

Though if they are still around i have a couple of mates running td05 18Gs on sr20's with good results.

The trust turbos are plain bearing, non water cooled so you have to block off the water lines.

As far as i know there not in production anymore but still stock available. There a good turbo upgrade for the money with the power they deliver.

i wish i still ahd my SR20
