Winton Open Day

When is Winton's Open day. Thought they had a mid year event.

Lost their letter, and calendar is bare. Have some friends keen for this.,

Also anyone want to comment on this track in winter? safe, slick? busy?

The Winter Winton Fun Day is on Sunday 17th July.

This is always a great track. It's still pretty good even in the wet. Great track to learn on and huge run-off area's if you get it wrong. Nice and simple, track is a contant width and although this isn't a factor for you Anthony there are minimal gear changes so you can consentrate on steering and braking.

Mind you on these fun days your biggest risk is other cars. There are heaps on the track at once.

ok, yeah im lazy, and just trying to drum up an indication of sau interest.

i went last december, took a friend with me, who took his brother up early this year. so now the whole posse is interested in going, since it doesnt require licenses and is dirt cheap.

apparently the last fun day had half the people, so less cars on the track, and much more comfortable day. december put me off, with so many cars, and people started getting ****y as the day went on, so rode ya ass into corners too much.

anyway, july it is, prolly head up then. just concerned since no mention of it here; wondeirng if it been overlooked or come and gone.

Every time I take my car it's very busy, every time I don't and I go to watch/passenger it's beautiful weather and quiet without fail! I'll be driving this time so expect lines round to the petrol bowsers like the december one!!!

This time of year will make the lines more bearable, not so hot.

Whats too far? There is no such thing:)

These days are so much fun i have never considered the drive to / from nto worthwhile ...even the time i needed a tow back to Melb. A +3hr drive is nothing, its a CD and a half, and if you happen to be in an SAU convoy its seems a lot quicker:)

How is delaying my holidays so i can do 3weeks work in Sydney...real reason was i wanted to go to Eastern Creek, thats just under a 9 hr drive:)

A round of applause for the NSW journey man:) Snadown is a great track, and i know if iu move back to Sydney then i will still be keen for 1-2 trips down to Sandown per year:thumbsup:

yeah im planning on making the trip up for the day if all goes well on the few things i need done during the week to the car. I never have had any track time before, so should be fun.

If your just going for a look - come on the 23 July instead - we'll all be up there that weekend and also the weekend after for Dutton (29-31 July).
