Coil Pack info/Tips......for cefiro and Laurel

Just letting you fellow Laurel and cefiro owners know of something that i found out.......

Many of you may have experienced issues with your coil packs shagging out. Findong Cefiro/Laurel RB20 coil packs can be a bit of a nightmare. (the plugs are different for the R32 RB20det)

My new drift Pig (CA18det silvia) arrived last week suffering from similar issues........I had a few Laurel coil packs lying around so i thought i would see if they are the same.......As it turns out they are IDENTICAL (except for the colour of the boot)

The part numbers are the same etc.

I have since fitted FOUR laurel RB20det coilpacks to my CA18 silvia and it is running great.

So if you need to replace one of your laurel/cefiro coilpacks.......you are able to use CA18det packs!!!! (my S13 is 1988, the packs may be different to the 91 CA18 items.)

Hope that helps a few of you out.

I can confirm that also. The Jap wreckers that I go to said the same thing "that is a CA18 coilpack"

I have three RB20's, two on stands one in a Cef and the coil packs are all the same?

yours may have a R32 RB20 in it, not a original ceffy one.

Mine was a absolute dead stocker when I got it, auto and all. So i dont think thats the case. It is an '88 model however, maybe they changed later on for some odd reason.

Yep my mates 89 4 door R32 had a totally different wiring loom, different sensors and different coils as we discovered when trying to swap out of my 89 Auto Cefiro (now manual converted)..
