im rebuilding my RB20 after cracking a piston, again. im putting CP forged pistons in and was just wondering if there is much to be gained in porting the head, as in $$$$ Vs hp gained.

Has anyone had there 20 head ported, what hp did it end up flowing compared to standard.

who on the Gold Coast or Brisbane would you recomend to do this work.

the problem with the rb20 head which is the same casting as the rb26(rb26 everything is just way bigger ie. ports, valves, cyclinder chamber, is everything is so small and alot of it you have to keep like that!! Around the studs on the exhaust for instance is a big chuck of alloy to strengthen to the stud which on an rb26 you can remove as the studs are further apart as the ports are bigger on a rb20 you have to keep them. Id suggest for the money you will spend on die grinder bits and dremel flat polisher sand paperbits, around $200+, I would by a garaunteed performance enhancer such as adjustable cam gears or something along those lines....

Cheers.

was going to get it profesionally ported, im chasing as much hp as possible out of the 20, and before someone says it i dont want a 25 or 26. im sticking with the 20.

the engine is for drift. chasing around 400rwhp, i have seen a rb20 do the numbers on a dyno so i know it can be done.

Dude, get out your whitepages, and call JH Hill. He does the BEST work. Ring him, make sure you talk to John, and see what he thinks. Many of the faster cars in brisbane have been there weither they know it or not.
