Hi guys i just got my new car a R32 gts-4 . Its a great car but every time i drive it i build up a sweat from the heat coming from beneth my gear stick. I was just wondering if anyone else has had this problem and could point me in the right direction. Could it be that my gearbox is on the way out, or that the trans oil is low or sumthing? It also makes noise from the gearbox and crunches sumthimes 1-2 but im going to try to change the trans oil as many have suggested.

Any suggestions will help thankyou ( :

I can change your oil for you onsite, let me know if your interested.

Normally there should be oil in there, unless you have leaks, check under the car, but usually gearbox oil and diff oil reak of oil a lot more, you should smell it easily.

Is your gearknob hot too?

no the gear stick dosent get hot just all the kick panels running inbetween the driver and passenger seat. It heats up the cd player heaps to. Thanks for the offer but I might have a go by myself this weekend and see what i can do im going to put VMX80 in it ,do you know what brand that is?

thank you

greg

Its the gearbox + transfer case sitting straight under there. Every GTR I have been in does the same, but not GTST's, so im assuming most of the heat is coming from the transfer case (I know I said GTR, but GTS4 has the same style setup).
