New Perth Import Only Show....

Recommended Posts

Hmmmm..... I would also have to say that Good Trade stalls with good deals ( the word good there is important ) is a good start. A nice selection of driving events perhaps, a selection of different cars ( RICE and PERFORMANCE ) and of course some nice girls to ogle at :uh-huh:

Cheers

Brett

everyones idea's sound good but...

1> no rice?

errr how can anyone CHOOSE what rice is and what isn't, personally id classify all cars at these cars shows RICE if i had too, you barely see one with any sort of street cred etc.. but there are the few though i must admit.

2> racing events/drift

its hard to find a venue that will let you cut it up, the last autosalon at belmont almost ruined it for Norbert whom is now holding his Max Action events there, no excessive wheelspin etc and they have scouts there looking out for these things.

drift, you need a HUGE area.. none of this powerslide crap.

+insurance for the lot which would be a pain.

3> motorvation style event for imports would be unlikely aswell, there wouldnt be the same support from the import guys to do what the _TREVS_ do. To show your support for the import scene, how about entering this year? :D

I have a few more things to pick at but ill leave it.

Personally im not a fan of car shows, you only need to go once every few years or so to see the same friggin car except this time it has a pod filter on it or BMW M3 mirror.. whooop deee doo

other than that.. sounds good, good luck with it. :)

i agree with radium, most of you people are idealists but goto eb realists at times. :)

there are virtual no areas for a drift venue bar barbagello and collie, and i know barbagello doesnt like it. Insurance would cost the earth.

Now motorvation rocks, esp this years with mix of imports and domestics going at it head to head. thats how it should be. Sure an import only event would be nice thats thats what u guys have 4 6 and rotary comp for :)

Bring on the rivalry i say, especially when i want to bring my Project car out to play with its mix of domestic grunt and japo ideals of making power.. 1 day :D

There should be excells with huge bodykits, and big stereos, tv's and shit. Lancers with ralliart stickers all over 'em. Accents with checker plate on the floor. That type of thing would be sweet. They should have a comp to see who's boot rattles and falls to shit first by there subs that weigh more than the car. See who cut there springs the shortest, so there 1/4'' exaust scrapes on spped bumps. And they should hand ya a sledge hammer or two when you pay your entry so you can walk round and smash the F#ck out of these pieces of shit. :)

strich but why would u?

to annoy the gf of course... she's the one with the accent :)

'spose I shouldnt bag it, it got me to work for over a week :)

Yeh, your right about slowing down an already sluggish car, but I mean come on, there are some people out there that LIKE having a show car (read: slow car) and not a 1/4mi. king.

Either way, makes no difference to me - Each to thier own I say :uh-huh:

Thought I'd weigh into this argument. Drift as a spectator concept is absolutely unworkable in conjuction with any Perth Exhibition venue - possibly with the exception of the Fremantle Passenger Terminal. Insurance is impossible to get and would cost upwards of 5k for the day. So as much as I would like to see it, I dont think its an option.

I'm all for a properly organised show without all the sh*t and glitter cars that attend the other 2 shows. I'd be quite happy to be a judge and put a few cars in

    • I find it funny that the USA is finding out all this really really weird stuff, and people from the USA are coming here treating it like gospel, yet, all the info on solving those issues is here on these forums for the last 15 odd years... Also, I know how much heat it takes to ignite the hood lining of an R33 skyline. I worked it out myself... It also took a LOT of time, and heat for it to do it... Big single, and I needed to drive the car, so retarded the timing off to "protect it". Yeah, that was a bad move for cruising on a freeway with only 15 degrees of timing on it. That was a lesson I learned around 2009. So that's over 15 odd years ago. Aligning water and oil, that's identical for any turbo engine, it's not Japanese specific. If a shop doesn't know how to make sure the core is rotated the right way, then they shouldn't be touching any turbo engine. That's not a matter of "We haven't had Skylines for that long here"...
    • Sounds like it is rotational in the driveline. CV? Tailshaft CB? Also.....didn't you just pay to have that bit painted and put on the car?
    • Yeah, when I dialled my idle down, given how much time I spent idling at the lights in traffic on my daily commute, the effect on overall fuel consumption was absolutely noticeable.
    • Emissions, fuel consumption, heat, noise, etc. most likely.
    • For me at least the reason why it bothers me is because it's indicative of a deeper problem. And that will nag at me forever. Especially because I have tailpipe emissions testing + evap leak testing every 2 years.
