im looking for the best places to pickup a R34 GT-T...

after fuel consumption, etc with my 200rwkW R33 GTS-T, im chasing a little more cheaper to run, nicer looking, etc car, thats a bit more 'sensible' power wise aswell.

basically its as follows..

R34 GT-T 2 door

manual pref. but tiptronic is an option

black

R34 factory sports kit would be nice, or any kit for that matter, but stock is fine.

sunroof (pref.)

exhaust (pref.)

got ~$30,000 to throw around, but obviously the less, the better.

and if anyone is chasing a 200rwkW, white kitted R33 GTS-T, gimme a yell!

cheers :O

If you want to change to an R34 based on fuel economy..don't.

Fuel economy of 33 and 34 would be almost identical.

Fuel economy is more related to the ol' right hoof whether it be modified or not.

My REX is putting out maybe 40kW more than stock and gets 10l/100kms normally.

Who said 34's are nicer looking :)

I've had both and a nice 33 will grab my attention in traffic moreso than a 34 but that's just my preference.

If your chosing an auto then the 34's are much nicer with the tiptronic function compared with a 33.

At 18 I'd hate to be paying your insurance costs

a stock R34 is going to have better fuel economy, and lower insurance costs than my 200rwkW, 5km/L R33, surely :P

If your car is tuned correctly and you drive the cars in a similar way fuel economy would not differ greatly.

If you are having a problem with excessive fuel consumption and the car is tuned right as I said the biggest factor is you.

Cheers

Except you Mr Traitor!

Yep sorry

The REX was the wifes choice (been my choice all other times)and I think it's been a great little car. I do miss 6 cylinders though.

Once I replaced the Bugeye headlights it didn't look too bad.

My Missus didn't like the 34 and wouldn't drive it because she couldn't see out the back >

I actually think the 33 is a sweeter looking car but what would I know I'm waiting for a CPV35 :P

ok, ill straighten out my story..

i enjoy my R33, but in a modded state, it chews more fuel than i would like, seeing as its my daily driver.

my reasons for wanting a (stock-ish) R34 is, 1) fuel economy, 2) lower insurance, 3) it looks much nicer, 4) not as common as a R33, 5) newer car, so hopefully more reliable, etc, etc... i basically just want a R34 :D

You won't get cheaper insurance, because the value would be insured for a lot more than you're 33. If you are going to spend more money on a car spend it on what you have now!! (unless something is wrong with it)

i got quotes for both my current car, and a R34..

for me to have the R33(valued at 20,000) its $3,000

for me to have the R34(valued at 30,000) its $2,400

the R33 has a fair few 'performance, and handling mods' they up the insurance because i have bigger brakes, etc... stopping quicker is bad!

Damn, insurance companies are f***ed up!!! I can't see why it would happen like that, but oh well, if you want a 34 go for it then! I am guessing you aren't planning to mod it then, otherwise you would be going against you're reasons for getting one.

thats true with regards to insurance my R33 cost 1850 a year to insure for $20k and now i have the 34 it costs just over $1400 insured for $33k??? work that out? maybe the R33 has a bad history with insurance companys so they put it in a higher risk category and cause there arent as many R34's (yet) they are not classed as risky, just a guess here, someone correct me if im wrong.

but with regards to fuel economy there aint really much difference between the 33 and the 34 i think, even though my 34 has a bit more power than my 33 had, it does use quite a bit more fuel for the small amount of power gained.

my 2c :):D
