Blew that much black smoke I thought it was a D-tune, as in 'diesel'. He must've been an unhappy boy with whatever was going wrong, almost like his cooler hose blew off.

yep, exactly Jayce, as you said, that thing should have been pulling 1.10's all day on street rubber and the best i clocked it at was a high 1.14, he was powersliding all over the place and he sure as hell would'nt have been doing that if he could drive.

was he powersliding or suffering from lift-off oversteer ie not keeping his foot in it and letting a GTR do what a GTR is supposed to do? but either way you're right, he wouldn't have been doing that if he could drive.

I towed it home, blew a tyre on the trailer about mittagong (no spare of course it was blown too) and stumbled back home at about 60. Parked the trailer with the car still on it in disgust and had a beer. And thats where it has stayed.

I'll chuck a new std puter in there and see if that was the problem...otherwise i get to start the whole looooong troubleshooting process again

farking GTRs, its almost a shame they are sooo much fun.

And I've set a new slowest lap for wakefield, 1.17 on my sole timed lap hahahahaha

Woohoo! I went faster! (OK,so I busted my nuts ALL day to go fast versus your single timed lap...). I noticed the R34 finally got a reasonable time in at the end of the day...new owner maybe starting to come to grips with his new steed? Either way,that car was HORN!
