Hehehehe...

I'm afraid it isn't that simple Linus... As the late Ayrton Senna once said,

"It's easy to drive a slow car fast, but difficult to drive a fast car fast".

What this means is that it's easy to extract near-maximum potential out of a slow car (fast lap times, fast ETs, etc), but it's much much harder to drive a fast car to it's full potential. I guess you'll find this out when you start making proper horsepower out of your s15 :)

The RotorMaster RX7 that we saw run a 7.8 second pass (or something like that) was amazing yes? How do you think it would go with Street tyres? I'd predict a 30.5 @ 172 mph... When you go over a certain horsepower level, there's no point in running with street tyres (well, not 18" street tyres anyway, perhaps 15" Nitto NT-555Rs would be okay), you need slicks to put the power to the ground.

I've spoken to a lot of people who are very experienced drag racers, and expressed my disappointment at the times and they all laughed at me when I told them what tyres I was using... Basically the unanimous opinion was I was kidding myself if I expected to set a fast ET with those tyres. Fast Terminal Speed, yes, but Fast ET? No way.

So I'm going to have to put the slicks on to put the power to the ground, and run the fast ET that everyone judges the car on... I now know how Mario feels when people won't accept a car unless it's run a fast time down the 1/4 Mile... Albeit to a slightly lesser extent :)

You're 110% correct there :)

I just installed a NISMO triple plate clutch in, and I guess it has moved the "weak point" of the drivetrain to the driveshafts...

What's going to happen after I put billet driveshafts in? The gearbox will most probably go BOOOOM tinkle tinkle tinkle :)

As Troy said yesterday at Eastern Creek,

"Terminal Speed is to see what the car can do... ET is for those who want to spend another $20,000 actually doing it"

:bahaha: :bahaha: :bahaha: :bahaha: :bahaha:

well i prefer ur earlier intention of racing ur car on street tyres because that's where u'll spend most of ur time driving. since u mentioned Ayton Senna, i'd like to draw ur attention to another famous quote:

'it doesn't matter if you win by an inch or a car length, winning is winning' :) hahhaahah

Driving yes. Racing no.

Yes, well obviously I've found out that my combination of 18" rims, DMS coilovers and Triple Plate clutch is quite useless for launches on street tyres... Too much power.

But the DMS coilovers, 17" D01Js and Triple Plate are *EXCELLENT* for track work, which is great, because that's what I prefer by FAR... I'm only doing drags for a side activity because it's just another avenue of motorsport that I enjoy...

"Winning is winning"? On the drag strip, unless you're racing a mate, the only person you're racing against is yourself... So I guess I won AND lost? I don't street race, so that quote was quite irrelevant methinks...

so ur run against Dr GTR at the lights wasn't street racing? :)

No... It was a friendly squirt for 100m between friends whilst driving to get food.

You haven't said one positive or encouraging thing in this thread. All you are trying to do is bring me down.

Thanks for your input, but I don't need it.

im not touching VISHES, i've already had my ass returned back on a platter by him, i'll only do rolling starts from now on

I'll have to give VISHES that much.... I remmeber my first encounter with him at the wollongong cruise..... I was looking over my right shoulder and the GTS-T was no where to be seen

....... look over my left shoulder.... "WTF is that S15 still doing there?"

    • Ok gotcha, so one post to fpr  another to bov  and I have the mishimoto boost controller and a link g4+ so I’d just have the tuner set it up properly. For the last two from plenum post throttle to  ecu/ boost controller, I know that I have a hose coming from the ecu that I was confused about so I assume that’s what connect to the boost controller from the ecu? And then the last is just from plenum to boost controller then to wastegate?
    • From there, it was just a quick electrical check, prime the oil and start her up Which, is not what happened. 1. Bloody seppo Aeropro battery holder. Not only was it too tall for the battery (which I'll forgive them for, I have another battery the same nominal size that is taller than Neil's one, but the bracket is a fixed height so the battery was spaced up) But the thing that really shits me is the hardware to hold it on requires a 7/32 Hex key. WTF. No-one will ever be able to remove or install the damn thing without a hex key they don't own 2. Kill switch no longer worked once the console was installed. Neil mentioned above he had to adjust the length but it no longer cleared the console once installed. Sorted. 3. Suspiciously, the brake light holders were hanging in the boot with no globes. Sure enough the stopper on the brake pedal was missing so they are always on unless the kill switch is activated. Will pick one up tomorrow (turns out 32 and 33 don't use the same stopper) 4. All that sorted, I turned on the kill switch, turned the key to ACC. Nothing. Turned it to IGN. Nothing. Checked some fuses and found the main IGN in the boot was missing which improved things once it was replaced. Now ECU and dash lights turn on with IGN but still no fuel pump. 5. Turned it to Start....ECU on, no fuel pump, no starter. Plus the voltage dropped straight to 9v.  I suspect the starter is f**ked but am going to have to work through it all and see what is happening, really looks like more than one issue. Does anyone have the R33 fuse box key with the circuit it sources from (eg BAT, ACC, IGN, SRT etc) and supplies? I can find a translated list showing Amps and circuit without supply circuit, and I can find supply circuit without Amps and target circuit.
    • 3rd time lucky, the AAC is now all plumbed up after getting some final fittings All set up under the plenum of maximum access
    • OK, so the weight has been bugging because it was really low. I did it again today and got a more believable answer at 1246 without driver And with a 93kg driver I'm pretty sure the car was still slightly on the quickjack last time meaning the full weight was not on the scales
