Freebaggin
Guys, I have modded R33 that almost never gets driven these days, no time. On average once per month. Any reliability or maintenance issues with car layed up like that? Cheers. Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/76412-garage-car-issues/ Share on other sites
4door_Sleeper
My car is in a similar situation (probably driven twice a month) You battery should probably be disconnected and time given to warm it up gently when it is started. Cubes
Get your self a battery isolator. I would also be taking it very easy on the diff and gearbox, allowing it to lube up properly again. R31Nismoid
Just cause you dont drive it less, make sure you still change the oil regularly as it will degrade over time etc etc. I'd start it every 3-4days if you can to give all the lines and all that a bit of a run through. Just what id do, if it does anything i dunno Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/76412-garage-car-issues/#findComment-1400877 Share on other sites
BHDave
Pull the plug on the cas and crank it for a bit to build a bit of oil pressure before starting as all the oil will have drained back to the sump. Mine takes a bit longer to get pressure than i'd like and it only sits for 5-6 days at most. Sydneykid
Get a solar powered battery charger, they trickle charge a enough to stop the battery dying:cheers: PS; Why have you got a great car that you don't drive? Isn't that why you bought/built it? Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/76412-garage-car-issues/#findComment-1401790 Share on other sites

NZM.031
i drive my 33 once a week. only on weekends, never driven on weekdays, no need to. my starter motor is not working properly, the overrun clutch isnt disengaging and keeps the bendix in the ring gear for a few seconds after it starts. only started doing it when i stopped driving it though the week.. i also let it fully warm up before i drive it anywhere, and i dont leave a full tank of fuel in it while it sits there. cheers Linton Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/76412-garage-car-issues/#findComment-1402740 Share on other sites
