hey people...

i have a problem with my r34... when i turn the key.. it cranks and cranks and it slowly struggles to start... but if i leave my car lets say overnight... and i turn it on the next day.. it turns on straight away?? thats one thing i dont understand.. :werd:

i blew my turbo at the start of the yr.. and got a 2535 installed 2 - 3 months after. and since then.. the ignition started to play up abit. =/

im just wondering if anyone would have a clue on why this is happening.. and where to fix it ?

i took it to nissan.. and they said something about the "coolant sensor" ?? is there anythign else i should check.. that mite relate to this problem??

thanx all

Like Nissan have said, it sounds like the coolant sensor.

When the engine is cold, more fuel is added by the ecu, to help it start. When the engine is warm this extra fuel is not needed, but if the coolant sensor isn't working the ecu will still think the engine is cold, and the extra fuel stops the engine from firing up.

Cheers.

Simon.

hey charlie,

it might be a bit late in writing, but i have had that problem on my R31 several times and it can come about by washing the engine down.. the water settles in the contacts and can't get out easy then corrodes the contacts.. jut keep it in mind if you have washed your engine.. its quite common i see it all the time its unfortunate where the sensors sit they just cand dry efficiently..
