The last sample post (on this post) was from the one who started the thread.

Maybe someone from SAU should make a direct challenge to him. Say a $55,000 modded 32 against a $55,000 10 sec XR6T. That should give them a bit of reality check.

what you guys think of XR6T VS skyline GTR twin turbos.

having arguments with alot of people about them?

personally i reckon T's have alot of potential>

its giving me a headach

bro geea got in to the 10 sec for you with less mod then your twin turbo godzilla will do the tens. geea did with style with no-nos. imagine if he spend the much money you guys spend on your godzilla. your fastest Skyline in australia is in higher 8's with all the mods. and skylines been around for decade's while the xr6t been around for only few years. let us have some time to research like skyline, i am sure we will crack some records bro.

nah mate i dont feeel silly at all. i just thought that he was serious and that i needed to defend all the xr6t owners.

mate by the way xr6t is 2 in 1, taxi by day and skyline wooper by night

i challenge ne skyline owner to put more than 2 people in there godzillla and race with same in an xr6t.

I think its fine to compare all cars so long as it doesn't degrade into a mud slinging match...

I'd love a GTR but being a big guy 6'5 and about 115Kgs i don't think i'd ever fit into a rice burner... (even a nice one)...

Those GTR's arnt the same price of a stock T, there almost double. Now If i were buy a T for $40000 and even spend $40000 on it (80K in total) it would kill the GTR. Its the same as buying a VL turbo for 10K spending 30K on it to match the price of a new Stock T, the vl would kill the T. But you have to agree all aussie performance cars are bargains and have enormous performance potential, so up the T....

I had a very interesting run yesterday with a Skyline GTR, which was maybe 3-4 years old. It was all riced up both inside and out and we both thought we'd give it whirl at the lights. Interestingly, at the same time an AUIII XR6 ute pulled up at the lights as well on my left side, which I thought nothing off.

Anyway, lights go green, I've mashed the pedal and the Skyline is struggling for traction and sliding all over the place. I've pulled about a car length in front and by then the race was well and truly over so I eased off the pedal (doing about 130 in an 80 zone). However, the biggest surprise was that the AU ute also beat him as well. So, at the next set of lights, the Skyline boy didn't even try, however, the Ute boy was up for another run.

This time the Ute dumps the clutch, tyres screeching, trying to keep pace and within 30-40m I already had half a car length on him, when I thought why bother? Just goes to show that it sometimes doesn't matter how much power the car has got, if the setup isn't right, you are going to get beat by Ford taxi...

Gee, I love the T.....and its stock.

For those who haven't seen a GTR in decent shape run. Here's a clip.

At least you can see what you'll be up against. The GTR was lightly modded. Take note of the launch. And the mustang rocks! I certainly wouldn't want to take on a GTR that dumps the clutch at 7000revs.

Yes, it was. It had GTR on it. And as I said previously, just because its a GTR, doesn't mean the bloke driving knows what he is doing or that the setup isn't right....

Next time I see him, I'll ask him to pull over so I can have a look...seriously mate, I can only go off what I saw on the outside. If it was a GTS with GTR badging, then the guy in it is a bigger goose than before....

what ever tickles your fancy I guess... the GTR is a great car and 5 years ago I would of chosen that over a T any day.... but I guess if money didnt come into it you would be choosing between the phoon and the GTR (to make the comparison half fair)... with a wife and a kid, the phoon would get my nod anyday over the GTR...

am guessing that when a few phoons hit the streets with edit and the like... there will be a lot of embarressed gtr drivers around

I think one point we r missing here is that there are no stories here of ne one runing against a real gtr, and i havent heard about ne gtr's pulling against a real modded on road T like geea's so he could have taught them a lesson.

plus how many 9 sec gtr's have u's seen onroad??

Another point how much would u pay to get a 10 sec gtr compare to a well look aftered 10 sec T like geea's for aroound 55k. so u can use it as both family and sports car.

like i said before bring ne gtr and put 3 people in it and also take a 10 sec T and put the same many people than tell me wat the outcome is gonna be?

I am sorry. I still lack to see your point. So going by this because the T is cheaper and can be modded to go faster IN A STRAIGHT LINE it makes it the best car in the world? Get over yourself. The Ferrari Enzo and Porsche Carrera GT cost more then most peoples houses, even 2 or 3 times the price of their houses. They only run low to mid 11's in the ¼ so they are crap because a modded T could beat it? Why not buy a old mazda, dump a big HP rotor in it and it willbe quicker then a T for a lot cheaper? Makes it a better car? A better buy? NO OF COURSE NOT!

It takes more then a quick ¼ mile time to be a sports car, it requires braking, turning... Yes a sports car needs the complete package. The T WILL NEVER match any real sports car like a GT-R or Ferrari in this because of one major thing. Its weight. the T is a TANK!

Mate, let me make it simple for you, for an 2003 enzo cost around au$850 k, give me 200k of that, and i will give you a T that can do a circuit lap faster then a enzo. plus you only can set 2 people in a enzo, also you have to be under 80 kg to fit in a enzo. only thing that makes a enzo expensive is the tag. and they only make so many of them. now coming back to GTR, do u seriously think that it is the best sport car in the world for that money. like those gentlemen said that gtr z tune cost around 220k, give me half of that, and i will you T with same spec. also an enzo weight about 3230 lbs

another thing a Skyline GTR 2002 R34 Nur weight about 3968 IBS and the T weight about 3800 lbs. The Nur (Nürburgring) edition is the final edition of the R34 Skyline GT-R. It features a racing version of the Inline-6 that will push upwards of 450 horsepower when unrestricted. Only 1000 were made

so here we go for your weight problem, Skyline GTR 2002 R34 Nur weight is heavier then the T. so if you are paying that extra just for the traction and suspension, then it is not worth it mate, spend that much on Your T, you will have much better result.

yeah, as said that a enzo cost 2 to 3 times some people's house, it just depends where you live.

my god....i hate australian made cars, and the drivers for their mentallity. my dad is an all ford man, hates turbos and rotors because it doesnt take any brains to make them quick. he says their is no satisfaction in a 3kw gain on a turbo'd car.

that said, he loves the xr6t...wierd???

how is it that.... a gtst....can scrabble all over the road, while the xr6t just walks away....they are both rwd and powerful. and why are they comparing their car to a gtr...wouldnt the gtst's be more of a match...

i dont want to sound like those guys though, skylines have their faults and there are better sports cars.....but ford drivers are idiots.

i knew someone who had a vl and his mechanic was telling him how shit it was because it had a nissan motor (rb30) in it and was telling him how hsv's are the best in the world :S ... typical stereotypical ignorant folk. needless to say he laughed at the mechanic so much lol

got nothin against holdens, in fact i like em * waits for the wrath ... lol * but ford drivers do shit me, and i find drivin round in my 33 its mainly d***head ford drivers that always wanna challenge me or shout abuse .... im sure you all know the types of crap said.... reading that crap at the start though, i seriously couldnt be bothered, i got to the " yeah sick bro " n that crap and gave up lol. i got the jist of it but.... typical ignorant bogans. 'nuff said.

wwwwhoa, i jus read the six pages. Mindless banter. At least there are a few who are smart enough to know what a skyline actually is.

They all seem to claim that an xr6t would smoke a gts-t. I reckon they'd be very close, if not dead even regardless of whether 32,33,34. I'm not sure of what a stock xr6t does, but i really doubt its 13.5.

I mean, if I had a family and wanted to tow stuff and weighed 150kg I would seriously consider one, they seem like good cars, but some of the comments in that thread are just ridiculous :chairshot

Being a member of both forums, I agree that that thread is full of posts from people who suffer from NFI.

The stock XR6Turbo will do a 13.8>14.1 depending on the transmission type.

Ther eis no need for a war as I am sure that thread wlll be closed as it is embarresing
