ADR69 (full frontal impact occupancy protection) does not apply to any vehicle prior to 1995, however, all aftermarket panels must also be certified and have passed crash testing.

So basically no, the bonnets are not legal unless they have undergone crash testing and have been certified by QT.

Hey all this is my 1st post. ah was going to say the same thing as above. The people who imported my car said something along the lines of if its befor 1995 than it can be legal but has to be certified anything over 1995 than apparently not at all.

At the MSC I was showing the couple in the burgundy R33 my FMIC isnstall and a guy from TTR (??) racing said that he could clear my bonnet of a defect becuse it is a fibreglass bonnet with a carbon covering, anyone gotten off a defect like this?

let me firstly say hello to everyone i'm new to this site I've just purchased my first skyline I imported a 96 R33 GTR Vspec through SVi they made the process so easy for me and i would recomend them to everyone i'll post some pics up for everyone after i get them. I work at Custom Carbon and let me say that this is a huge grey area at the moment and it really comes down to the individual officer,we are still having tensile and compression test on a few of our bonnets for the ADR approval. The funniest thing is still to come thanks to project A380 there is now a world shortage of 3k carbon so with this in mind we are experimenting with a new carbon twill, cant give too much away but i hope to have a few products on show on my GTR at an upcoming show. If anyone has any questions or any quiries just pm me or contact Custom Carbon on 07 38652014 hope to meet up with alot of you in the future.
