I have posted on every Skyline Forum known to man about my 4wd light problem and yes in the technical section too!

It intermittently comes on. Never first thing in the morning. Only after I drive for awhile and it only seems to come on at idle.

If it does come on what I do is when i am stationary I turn the engine off and on quickly and drive straight away and that keeps it off until I idle long again.

The fluid is at the correct level.

What I did notice was when I was changin the clutch there was a small leak from the 4wd system I think. Could this force air into the system?

Do you know how to fix this and if so how much? Any tips?

BTW how much do you charge to bleed the brakes.

Hello Mr Miagi. Thankyou for you response.

When they did the clutch I only took a look. I notice fluid leak from the 4wd line next to geabox.

The problem was before the change of clutch.

Yes I would like to know how to bleed the 4wd system step for step.

I appreciate your help so thankyou in Advance Mr Miagi!

I just did my R32 GTR two days ago and this stopped the light coming on. (I assume the R33 is the same)

Remove the drivers side foot kick panel.

Turn ignition to on.

Behind the kick panel you will find a white plug which can be pulled apart. Disconnect it.

Dive under the car and where the hydraulic line is screwed into the rear of the gearbox you will find a bleed nipple (It points up towards the floor)

With a 10mm ring spanner crack open and then quickly shut the bleed nipple 6 times.

On mine I noticed air came out on the first two cracks open.

This fixed my 4WD light problem.

Reconnect the plug and turn off ignition.

Let me know how you go.

Ok just Spoke to GTRKEN while doing my car.

The bleeding has certainly make it much better.

th 4WD light use to come on all the time but now it doesnt come on hardly.

I couldnt find the white plug maybe because R33 was in a different place.

So I just bled using gravity as GTR ken mentioned.

So I bled it as much as I could. Went for a drive and did it again.

Light still comes on rarely. So I will drive until tuesday and will bleed it again on my friends Hoist.

Will update on tuesday.

Thanks again Ken. Much appreciated. Truly are a gentlemen.

OK Problem totally fixed.

For R33 GTR

Undo both nippes.

One at the front where gearbox ends and follow the line to one at the rear on the driver side

Got inside car and my friend hoisted the car up.

He got me to start the car and turn it off a few times and this turned on the 4wd pump.

first two car starts the nipples farted like there was no tomorrow!

Had quite a bit of air.

Filled it back up while still bleeding until no more farting occured.

Car is beautiful now. So happy got 4wd back!

Thanks to Ken GTR and MR MIagi!

MOderator can you please archive this thread? Will come in handy!

    • Ha ha ha, mine loves to spend, all on the dogs (they're our kids, and her spending would likely rival that of some people raising children!) the only benefit is, her spending is tax deductible as she runs a business in the dog industry 😛 The above all means she can spend race car budget quicker than I can. 😛 That and a lot of the things I want are very expensive, and I can be a bit "you want how much for that?!" And at other times overly impulsive. Or I start the w days of research, get to day 1.5 and get really annoyed that no one will advertise actual specifics and it's just marketting BS and I go "well, now I don't want anything to do with that now!" Also I hate paying lots of money for something I can make from $50 in materials. Then I get the shits halfway through making things and wonder why others who just buy parts have more fun... 😛
    • Their 240Z with the RB26 would be a real nice thing to have in a garage to come out for an occasional weekend cruise It's such a cool thing in so many ways Sadly, we have a blue 240Z shell that I walk past every day, just sitting outside a shed at work, it has been slowly disintegrating and falling apart into the ground for the last few years, the owner cannot be found, and I am unable to "claim it" I've been told by work and the RMS, the rust in the body is excessive though, and it has had most of the salvageable stuff, like panels, trim and switch gear stripped off it over the last year or two, work keeps threatening to put it in one of our metal scrap bins, I wish they did though, as it makes Mark sad walking past it
    • Good tips, I like it! 😂😂 My wife is a LOT more frugal than me so it's only me we need to worry about! A splurge to her is buying 2 pairs of socks in one visit at Kmart!
    • Haha, the appropriate response to the question "Is this new?" is "I've had this for a while.". With the unspoken small print that a while may be the time since this morning or five years ago   And to be fair I learned that from the best, i.e. my wife. Because it goes both ways.
    • Yeah kids certainly add a whole another dimension to your life.  Life ceases to be about you and more about them for a while!  And I wouldn't have it any other way.  I love watching them play sport and make new friends along the way. Wow, sounds like your mate is a good guy to know!!!  He's got some serious toys in the toy box!  Yes it would be lovely to be able to do stuff to your car without getting all tied up in boring shit like how to pay for it!!  I would describe my spending style as "aggressively spontaneous and logical but regrettable purchasing"....  That will hopefully make no sense at all which would be appropriate given that is how I buy stuff.  I'll decide at the drop of a hat that I'm buying something expensive, research the living shit out of it for 2 days straight then go out and buy it.  Then I'll have instant buyers remorse for 2 days which generally passes by the time it turns up on the front step!  If I'm feeling ballsy sometimes I'll tell my wife.  Other times it just makes its way silently passed the house and out the back to the shed, never to be spoken of again...
