on the 163.8 rwkw run, boost was 7.1psi <4500rpm, then >4500rpm it went up to 8.6psi... and from the latest run i think peak boost was at 9.1psi. According to my mechanic, larger exhaust pipe = faster flow of exhaust gas = more turbine speed = more boost :P.

How's that work out of interest.. now matter if your getting higher flow, the solenoid should still open the wastegate @ 7psi to vent excess boost.. hmm interesting.. better exhaust usually just means you get a quicker spool up doesn't it??

i am getting my Exhaust done soon I took pod and AF BOV off due to Defect

Hope i get More Power

Boost is only go up to half on the little meter when i drive it do any of u get yours up to the 7+ think

Thats because you are only running 7psi. 7 on the stock gauge is about 14 psi.

Only running 7 psi with your aftermarket ecu, front mount and exhaust is significantly holding your cars power back. You may even be out of the turbo's peak efficiency zone. Maybe increase the boost by a few psi? Then you should be putting out 170kW easy with a decent tune.

Well i don't know how to explain it, but it was proven on the dyno sheet...... that comment was from the mouth of ex Nissan & Top Secret Japan mechanic....... surely he has quite a lot of knowledge..... I also noticed that on cold night the boost goes up.... (i.e normally runs at .5bar <4500rpm and .6bar >4500rpm to .75bar>4500rpm)......... Maybe something to do with denser air on cold nights per square inch? he basically just said that upgrading intercooler to front mount will give ~10rwkw, and exhaust also gives ~10rwkw...... He just mentioned that larger exhaust pipe means that the exhaust gas can flow faster and therefore increase the turbine speed, which in turn will increase boost.......

Fair enough.. was just interested.. yeah - you get higher airflow, which can mean that you get boost coming on earlier unless the front mount cancels that out..

Still not sure about higher boost in colder - as the wastegate should activate @ the same PSI releasing extra boost - however - my mate's 180sx runs higher boost when cooler as well.. so who knows..

As for running 12psi boost, there has been previous threads about it.. would be advised if you are running that amount to put an FMIC on the car as your running nearly 2x boost through stock item - might have trouble cooling it, leading to pinging..
