r32 gts-t turbo?

Hey fellas just wondering what size the standard turbo is on my r32 gts-t and what it is capable of e.g= how many bar it can run what sorta kw's i would exspect to get out of it ect.

I have a hks airpod and a zani tani exhaust and 5 ziggen muffler.

i dont think the stock turbo can go much past 14 psi reliably. there are people that have boosted it further and had no problems but thats not to say that they werent a whisker off of flying apart.

a mate of mine used to run 14psi in his stock 32 - that turbo blew up in 6 months and the exhaust fin now resides in the cat.

To be safe i reckon 12psi should do it.

phantom32, do you know roughly how much more power your friend made? and could you really feel it?

he got the car pretty stock, but it seemed to be making alot more power than it should have. It was hella quick on 14-16psi (was spiking), but it was pinging at about 5500rpm. You could feel the car pull, but it was screamin at the same time. Not good for the engine. I think his car pulled 140 or so RWKWs on 12 psi.

the turbo didn't last long at all.

does a r33 turbo handle anymore or is that the same and do they bolt straight on cheers guyz

I believe they bolt straight on but the dump pipe needs to be changed to suit the larger flange (correct me if im wrong)

probably better off getting a better exhaust and intercooler and injectors before a turbo upgrade. or even a new ecu. If standard wont be able to get full potential out of the upgrade turbo, if not may run into problems down the track. But a GOOD ECU will make a bit of a difference
