Well It's a skyline club, so i think having a skyline should be a pre-requisite for membership. [/quote:7be6e6d5c0]

yep, for full membership

We could have 'affiliates' - people we allow in the club because we like them and they are skyline enthusiasts and they are good for the club. (emphasis on GOOD FOR THE CLUB) otherwise its just anyone who likes skylines, which i think we should steer clear of.[/quote:7be6e6d5c0]

yep. read your post again. you said it yourself. skyline enthusiasts (which ryan is) good for the club (which ryan has been so far)

'enthusiasm' is an X factor when reviewing a membership form for an affiliate. we don't know how enthusiastic they are and we can't prove them wrong.

'good for the club' is a also an X factor we can't gauge untill they become a member.

we can't just admit ppl that bring an asset to the club. it's morally wrong and not alot of fun for your average 16-20 year old who loves skylines, want's to own one in a few years but for the time being would love to learn more from experienced owners.

i know i was in ryans shoes a while ago and if i had something like this club maybe i would have learned to be more careful and avoid the accident i was involved in.

Guest [ryan]
in my firstish post i recommended the 'associate' style membership for non skyline owners.

onarun i dont believe you have not seen and experienced ryans conduct in SDU chat that i have. Last I heard he's got no money. He did photoshop a few peoples cars though.... not talking crap about him, just stating fact. playing devils advocate here, not being an arsehole, but are we going to let every 15yr old with a hard on for skylines join up?

ive co-organised almost every event in SE QLD since i joined SDU so i'd like to continue my involvment in the club as a contact at the moment with rod and cam.[/quote:7f83883bdf]

slip i don't appreciate you making comments like that. you don't know me personally and don't know anything about my financial situation. same with me, i don't know you personally and don't know anything about your financial situation. i don't make comments about it do i? no. and as onarun said, it's an enthusiests club. my behaviour in IRC may not be perfect, and we all know yours isnt, but i am always well behaved on meets etc. And yes, i am willing to contribute cash to the club thankyou very much.

I think ONARUN just about summed everything up.

so I can't be a member if 1) I don't own a skyline or 2) don't do some thing good for the club?? well number one is not going to happen for a while so whats some thing good I can do for the club??

ryan i was just going by what you have told me about your financial situation. my conduct on irc hasnt always been perfect, noones has, but we have been imperfect in different ways, levels and methods.

nismo boy - good for the club. good socially, good techinally, good because you come on cruises and have fun, whatever. "not bad" for the club would possibly put it in a clearer light.

i am just speaking of my experience with ryan, which has been an overall negative thing.

i am torn. one one hand, its a skyline club, we should only have skylines in it (obviously) but on the other hand id like having silvia owners around (and similar).

you can still be an affiliate. your good deed can be paying your membership on time

as long as you respect all the members (goes for everyone) and don't give the club a bad name in the publics eye, you are doing a good deed.

good point with the new club/clean slate.

We just have to make sure we keep it relaxed open and social (as it is in qld now)

birty, unfortunately signing a disclaimer can mean sweet F A. People sign disclaimers and then sue all the time. stupid crap.

someone i spoke to informed me that having more than 5 cars in a group at an event (cruise or whatever) is illegal if we arent part of a proper club. apparently its an unsanctioned motorsport event. can anyone confirm/deny this?

$20 to join, $50?

Cant join a club because your 15 yrs old - ROFL how the hell is that relevant, as George said this club is pushed as an enthusiasts club.... since when are "enthusiasts" graded as acceptable or not acceptable according to their age.

Ryans a stirrer at times... and yes i read all forums but who has the right to pass judgement on on his financial status by wether or not they think they guy had enough money to join? - nobody

Sounds sus - my thoughts

PS: if someone joins, ie pays to become a member and breaks the internal club rules... kick them out.... thats how it should be done.

My 2 cents..... or maybe 3

I agree with BY BY.

We shouldn't rule out people like Ryan. He may be young

in some eyes, but he still puts in effort to do things?

No ones perfect, but everyone has to remember that

they will be representing the club in public places and if

any actions causing problems, will result in their membership

terminated.

Or how about having something like three types of membership or such.

as onarun said.

eg.

Standard = $30

Acess to forums etc

1 sticker

Cap

Full = $60

Acess to forums

Multiple stickers for car

Shirt , cap

Xtreme = $70

(must ber over 18)

Acess to forums

Multiple stickers for car

Shirt , cap

Invites to XXX parties hahahha

I dunno, something like that, that way we can satisfy the enthusiast and full members? Just an idea. We were all young once, and I for one didn't like my dreams shattered. My ideas may be stupid/good, but we need ideas to solve the problem, not create more.

sounds good

except i think we should pay for shirts and caps seperately, as a fund raiser to help pay for our forums etc....

    • There are fixes for this. In industry we use compressed air for everything. It is frequently wet, and many things cannot tolerate it. So there are various forms of driers available that you can install. The simplest option for something like this would be a dessicant drier. Much cheaper to replace some silica gel than actuator cylinders.
    • That's a solid update mate, well done at WA FOS. You may already know this, but the actuators on the paddle shift are a service item and are sadly not that reliable. As I understand it they collect water from the compressor (condensation) which then rusts the bores/pistons in the actuators. A mate of mine had no end of trouble with them in one if his circuit cars, apparently it's a 'known issue'. Buy a couple of spares at great expense to ensure you never have any problems with the ones you've got! Any clues about what the new WTAC rules might be? While faster cars are cool the Pro class arms race has got to the point where you wouldn't even bother entering without a $1m budget and even then I don't think you'd win.
    • https://nissan.epc-data.com/skyline/er34/3945-rb25det/trans/317/31940N/ The pictures of the part you're talking about is clearly not just one solenoid. You can see another picture of it here: https://www.alltranz.com.au/shop/drivetrain/automatic-transmission/RE5R01A/product/9305/ The 4 speed automatic in the GTT is Nissan corporate stuff. You can search up similar jobs done on a Frontier or Pathfinder with a RE4R01B to get an idea for what the internals are going to look like and the procedure like this:
    • Hi Chris,   long time since your post, just wondering if you have the Pinout for the v35 stereo plugs, I bought the roem nis2 harness but it doesn’t match the v35 connector. any help appreciated, I can work out the grn and power constant. But the rest might be hard. thanks Tyson
