gtrGhosTDoGG11
Hi, I want to import a car for motorsport use. Where can I get a level 3 CAMS licence or higher? What processes do I need to get it. Do you know anyone that has one so that I can import it under his license etc? Cheers, Will Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/77243-how-to-get-level-3-cams-licence-or-higher/ Share on other sites
chops
I believe it's not a cheap process. Not sure about level 3. Firstly, you have to be a member of a CAMS affiliated club. There is more info HERE. They don't make mention of a "level 3" licence as such, but I think the categories below the level 2 licences are all classed as level 3. You need medical examinations and a whole host of things. I believe you also have to compete regularly in CAMS affiliated events in order to maintain such a licence. Hope some of this info is helpful. chops Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/77243-how-to-get-level-3-cams-licence-or-higher/#findComment-1413775 Share on other sites
pkblade
I noticed that you've joined Nisan SVD, who are a CAMs affiliated club. So, thats a step in the right direction. That website above should have all the things to get you started (application forms etc). Maxx
CAMS Licence 1. u need be a member of a CAMS affiliated club (e.g. PSI? - $70 per year) now u are eligible to apply for Level 3 Lic - (Provisional Circuit Racing Licence ) it will require u to: - Complete a motor sport lecture - Undergo an Observed Licence Test (OLT) at which style, ability and attitudes are evaluated - medical test each year and it will cost u $385 per year for the Lic b4 u do it, u have to make sure u have the fund attend enough motorsport event, as the lic and medical test is not cheap, plus the car itself. Maxx
everyone knows how "reliable" rotory are, and nobody in HK can repair a rotory engine (even mazda HK), once they have problem they have to send the whole engine to japan. Demand and supply makes the prices drop Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/77243-how-to-get-level-3-cams-licence-or-higher/#findComment-1414822 Share on other sites
Duncan
and remember you can't rego a race car once it gets here, so include the cost of a trailer and tow car Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/77243-how-to-get-level-3-cams-licence-or-higher/#findComment-1414916 Share on other sites
Deluxe
and remember you can't rego a race car once it gets here, so include the cost of a trailer and tow car Correction there is such a thing called rally reg, gives you limited time to drive, but the paperwork says you can!! Duncan
Yes Rally rego is another type of import, that is how I bought my GTR in. For that you need National or International Rally license and you are allowed to drive the car to CAMS events, practice, and workshops. You need to call CAMS and get a permit before every time you buy it.
