Factory stacker

My gtr came with the factory 10 stack Sony stacker, and original factory head unit.

I want to ditch the head unit in favour of a newer Sony MP3 / CD player, but want to know whether Id still be able to hook up and use the stacker?

its weird, it has a changer control panel, integrated into the center console (all factory). The head unit itself must be switched off before the stacker will work!

so you need to be looking at units with an aux in. if you have the factory clarion unit ( which you should.) then it requires that the unit be off to work. with a bit of fiddling you should be able to get the audio to work.

Just out of curiosity, why is it that the jap stackers won't work with australian head units? I'm guessing it is just a plug difference or something and no adapter available?

mainly age. the one he has is 10-12 yrs old. plug differences are easy to get around.

get specific ( IE waht unit and what stacker) and I'll tell you more.
