Hi All,

I just got the bad news today after a compression test that i basically have to rebuild my engine. The thing is i have never been hard on her and i thought these engines were tough. Lucky i have an uncle that works for nissan and is familiar with my engine. So its not going to cost me an absolute fortune.

Does anyone know where i can get a forged internals package???

Im not going for the top of the range internals cause they are insane amounts of money that i just dont have.

Thanks ...........................lismo

Thanks.......yeah i think the jap sites are the best to get that stuff from i just looked at the one i get stuff through. i can get hks cams, hks cam gears, nizmo 740 injectors and split fire coils for $1260.00 its unbelievable if you were to pay for that stuff here you'd be up for nearly $3000

Tommo.......do you know of any more japanese sites that have an office in australia?

Yep,

http://www.nengun.com/

They are the two primary ones used by people over here, and I haven't heard bad stories from customers (apart from some parcels occasionally getting slugged by customs with duty and GST, but it's still cheaper that purchasing over here :D)

Cheers,

Tommo.

Liz

I've rebuilt my track car RB25 twice now but the last one got:

Arias forged $1300

GTR rods $300

Machining $1200 which included full balance, lightened flywheel, o ringed block (so you can use the standard head gasket for good power easily > 300rwkw), machine clean and straighten crank, prep clean block for build and size rods.

ACL Race bearings $140

plus all the gaskets etc.

I do my builds myself so save on about 25 hours of labour. Doesn't help though when my new R34 GTR turbos blow wrecking the engine :(

Be cautious of the bore size as it may already have been rebuilt but Rocket industries http://www.rocketindustries.com.au/ ship the Arias overnight, so check 'em then order.

I'll be back home in Brisvegas later in the year so hope to see the finished product.

GTR geoff,

Thats sounds good to me and in my price range too..... Thanks for your help.

I think i will do exactly that. The only thing is i will still have the standard turbo as the money i was going to use to buy a new one is now going to be used to rebuild the engine. So thats gonna suck having the engine power but not be able to use it!!!

Yeah it's a bummer when you have to hold off. Do it right though and protect with a power FC and proper tuning before lifting the boost. You can still wreck forged internals with overexuberant boost and not enough fuel. I see you already have a FMIC so that's good.

    • Hi soviet_merlin, We appreciate your concern regarding this possibly being some sort of PR/Political hype, I assure you that is not the case, I wish we could claim something like that, but in this case, we merely reached out for comment on the basis of the outrage we too felt, as those heavily in the automotive industry. Ps. the original source in the social media post is CarExpert not CarExplore.    Best, CE.
    • Made a bit of a discovery, but while I was cruising, I randomly decided to test to see if it worked and it showed up on my IC7. The entire time I tested it before, I never thought to turn the ignition on. I only tested it with head lights turned on but with the ignition off. Huge oversight on my end. I’m a dummy. I know.
    • G'day all, I have drilled and tapped the hole for the relocation of the timing belt tensioner. That was straight forward. I'm unsure if I need to also put another hole for the smaller stud that the spring behind the tensioner catches on (this is how it seems to work in its original spot). Or do you not use the spring behind it and just torque it down? Thanks in advance, I did a search but couldn't find anything related and it doesn't mention it in the rb30det sau guide.
    • Hi All,  just thought I would provide an update as I know smooth (Matt) was on this forum from 2003.    my brother Matthew passed away end of may 2024 at the age of 41 from liver failure. I am not sure how many of his original team krazy friends are still on here or active but thought it reasonable to let the forum know.    if you have any photos or pictures it would be great if you could share them.    it took me a while to work out he was active on here.    thanks so much
