Hey,

I'm looking at buying a R33 and it comes with no rego, but the problem is it was converted from NA (RB20E) to turbo (RB25DET). I was wondering if I need a engineers certificate for it all to be registered? Or would it just be classified as a engine swap?

If you need more info let me know.

Thanks

That's no good :D

Skyline33: It's 1995, manual, and i'm getting a pretty good price just under $16k, it also has some mods.

I guess I'll loose my deposit then, just to ask, why wouldn't you guys touch it? For RWC/rego reasons? Or just because it's been converted??

Thanks.

Yeah fair point, but does anyone know the legalities of the situation? Do I HAVE to get it engineered? Or can it be classified as an engine swap? I havn't really got my hopes up on the latter option obviously as there's a turbo there that wasn't before :)

if you didnt get the conversion done yourself, then follow everyone else's advice and dont get it.

if you originally got an n/a and THEN organised converting it etc then that would be fine, otherwise, find a car thats registered/can be registered, and to what you basically want (manual turbo if you want that)
