Nozila
well, I recently had a general check over on the fluid in my car and noticed that my overflow bottle was down to its minimum point which i topped up. I then looked at the under the radiator cap to see if it was low on coolant as well but it seemed to be full. Prior to this i didnt notice the temp guage to be high as it seemed to be at the half way level. This was also the case after i topped up the overflow bottle after a long drive. After doing all this though i did notice that my radiator is extremely hot particulary the top hose while the bottom hose was quite cool. I may be just steptical but can my radiator be blocked in any way? I believe my overflow bottle was at its minimum due to the fact that the used the heater a few times prior to checking it, could this have caused caused it as it was to the max level beforehand. Any enlightenment would be much appreciated. Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/77400-radiator-query/ Share on other sites

«Cyph3r»
After doing all this though i did notice that my radiator is extremely hot particulary the top hose while the bottom hose was quite cool. Top hose and top of radiator is where the hot water from motor goes in. Bottom hose and bottom area of radiator is where it comes out so it should be quite a bit cooler once its run through the whole radiator and exited. thats my extent of knowledge. With the water level dropping too...... if you flushed the system properly and got all the water out of the heater hoses, once you refilled it the heater wouldn't have had water circulating through it unless you turned the heater on. So yes that could be why the water level dropped..... could have also been that you got an air lock in the hoses somewhere. I spent a ridiculously long time flushing the radiator in my toyota and running it and filling it up till i got all the air out..... took me probly half a day on off doing it. :uh-huh: Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/77400-radiator-query/#findComment-1416726 Share on other sites
GTRsean
my overflow bottle in the 32 keeps going down too. I found that its due to the openig just aft of the cap and everytime i accelerated the coolant would slosh out the back, behind the overfloe bottle.
