Question for those studying Japanese in Aus

This is mainly directed at University students but i'd like a few recomendations on the text books that you guys use to learn japanese. I asked someone from melb uni a while ago and he said theirs one book that pretty much teaches you everything and that it's really good but i've forgoten the title of it. many thanks

The textbook I used was called "Japanese for Everyone." If you can master all the concepts in there you will be well on your way.

Any reports on the "nakana" series of books?

I've heard mixed opinions from amazon

2yr study of japanese student here. We use a text book called yookoso: an invitation to contemporay japanese. Quite detailed.

i started with japanese for busy people but have since switched.... it doesnt really matter what book you get first its all going to be the same stuff really .... to begin with.
