Please help strange problem

Hi i have a r33 1993 GTS skyline, and what happend is noramlly when i do a stand still drop the clutch n can keep the revs up around 6000rpm a wheels spinning and smell nothing but the sweet smell of rubber now when i do it i drop the clutch and then revs hit 6500 but now they drop down to about 2500 and the car almost stalls the wheels spin for a couple of seconds and then some smell that smells like something died in my car comes along any idea what this could be that causes the sudden power drop? im thinking scary thoughts of like ive almost blown my clutch or something i dont think its breaks cause i know wat they smell like lol and this is like driving through a pile of (rap any one else ever had these problems?
