rob1981
Hey I am wondering if anyone can help me out and give me some infor on the Nismo Pro LSD which is currently fitted to my R33. At the moment the diff is acting like a locker and when i turn corners the rear wheels chirp and/or rattle the rear end. Is there anyway i can adjust the diff so that it does make the rear wheels chirp when i turn corners????? Any help would be appreciated. Rob OK, looking at the diff from the drivers side, you have to undo the bolts that connect the axle and the stub axle and lever out the stub axle that enters the diff with a screwdriver. Then you can adjust the diff with a 19mm socket on a small extension. Their are 3 adjustments for varying amounts of "lockup." Low (68.6 N-m) is at 1/4 to the hr. Mid (93.1 N-m) is at 12 O'Clock, and High (137N-m) is at 1/4 past the hour.Turn the 19mm socket to make the desired setting. Hope that helps Rob. I have the written instructions here in Japanese. If you need more help, I can scan the instructions for you. Bl4cK32
Could you scan the instructions for me? Ive got the GT Pro LSD too, and ive never seen the actual instructions for how to adjust it. As for the chirping...its a mechanical diff. Either push the clutch in around corners, or get used to it.... Hi Reedy, If you want to do Drift, get a 2 way diff but if you want to do track as in Circuit get the 1.5 way. Lunatic Dancer
hmmm...I've tried adjusting mine a few times but does not seem to be locking it any tighter.. As far as I know the 2way GT-lsd pro comes out of the box torqued at MID setting... Has anyone with this lsd successfully tightened theirs, while on the car, to the High setting? Cefiro_PWA
1-way is what you need for a circuit/hillclimb car. anything else will result in oversteer/wheelspin. Sydneykid
Hi guys, a quick lesson in diff terminology.; 1 way only works for power on, no power on = no locking 2 way works the same for power on and power off, it is locked 1.5 way locks on power on, but only "half" locks on power off. So, 2 way is good for drift as you want slide ability/predictability on power on and power off. The locking on power compromises the turn in response a little (it wants to go straight ahead), but that doesn't matter as you should arleady be sideways. We find 1.5 way best for circuit work as you don't want the diff locking and unlocking (100%) as you work the throttle to control the power. dodge other cars, adjust the line etc. The "half" locking on power off is good for turn in (no understeer), plus it adds a little anti lock to the rear brakes for cars with no ABS. This makes trail braking a lot easier. We don't use a 1 way in rear drive cars, however they are usefull in front drives or in the front diff of a 4wd. Particularly front drive rally cars, where understeer can be a problem. So whether the diff is a 1 way, 1.5 way or 2 way makes no difference to power on oversteer or wheelspin as they all work the same in that condition. GTS20X
To add to Sydneykid, 1way no locking in reverse 1.5way some locking in reverse 2way locks in reverse Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/77935-help-needed-for-nismo-pro-lsd/#findComment-1468413 Share on other sites
Chris Wilson
Is the "through the output shaft hole" adjustment of preload unique to the Nismo LSD, or do Cusco or others use this? I have only ever come across plate type LSD's where adjustment means dismantling and plate swapping. Cheers. MerlinTheHapyPig
reverse?? 1 way = locks on acceleration 1.5 way = locks on acceleration, half locks on decelleration 2 way = locks fully on both acceleration and decelleration who cares if it locks in reverse!? why the hell would u be going in reverse...
