Hi,

Im wanting to extract more power out of my GTR 32 by winding the boost up to 1.4bar.

I have heard a lot of different stories about what types of fuel to use at this boost level as pulp cant handle it?? I am currently running 1.2bar on pulp but i have heard stories of tuners not running above 1.1bar on pulp?

I have had a lot of people tell me to tune it with a touline mix of 5-10% per tank??

Also if i get it tuned at this level with touline, can i still run my low boost setting on pulp??

Is anyone running high bost on pulp?? or a mix of some kind?

cheers,

Francisco

I hope your using a competant tuner

You havent provided any info on your engine setup so its hard to comment further, however saying that some tuners wont run more than 1.1 bar on pulp is garbage.

Is your car a street car? then have it tuned for regular readily available 98 ron pump fuel.

also, In don't know how long your stock GTR turbos will last at 1.4 bar. only one way to know for sure though...just pray you don't get the fabled 'ceramic sucked back into engine' syndrome.

yeah sorry, i have group A turbos and forggies etc.... and all the support gear to handle the boost.

Wanted to get some feedback from other peoples setups?? I have just heard differing stories from some people and im not sure what certain people "recommend" is true?

yeah i have it advertised......but enjoying it way to much!! if someone offers me the money i would have to part with it. I really need to buy a house(as everyone selling an 89 model says but i really do). As anyone who has had a GTR engine built knows the pain in $$ and time, having fun enjoying it now.

Back to the topic though??

I'm running 1.4 bar on 98RON fine, has never pinged - just comes down to the ability of your tuner & as I found, your fuel system. I have a similar setup to yours & for the record I have not noticed any difference between Ultimate or Optimax, mine makes within 1hp at the wheels on either. I personally would not touch toluene, that stuff will kill you. With my build, anything over 1.4bar required a higher octane fuel.

My 0.02c is you should use a fuel that is commonly available as your base line. That should be 98 RON for most people on this board. There is no point having your car tuned for some sort of exotic fuel or using an octane booster only to be stuck in the middle of nowhere without access to the fuel or additive with the car pinging its arse off (of course, you could go in a mess with the tables).
