Getting my first Skyline need some info help/ feedback

Recommended Posts

Hey all...!

I'm looking to get a Skyline r33 Gts25-t only problem is i'm on my Ps atm but i see heaps of em running around with p plates wacked on em do you think this'll be a problem??

Another thing i've seen on some of the R34s a Manual/auto gear shift.. you know the ones without the clutch??

You start at auto and if you want swtich to manual just with an up down motion for moving geras... can you get them manual instaled on an r33 or does that have to come made with the car??

last thing is ... got any suggestions on where to get good deals on cars and where good places to do em up are... in terms of pricing and quality:D

the triptronic? i dont like em much hehe

imo its just like shifting from 1st to drive in every other auto just makes it look cooler? i dunno

if u drive normally and dont do anything to get attention then u'll be fine with the law

well, firstly, i dont think you will have a problem unless you break the law... but when you do, you stick out like a sore thumb in a skyline with p plates.. so be careful chirping up tires etc, especially in busy areas.

The tiptronic is just an auto that lets you manually change gears. Its no quicker / better than any other plain auto. I have driven most tiptronics available and find them all pretty shit. Yet to test the BMW m3 tho ;)

If your looking for a manual S1 r33, you can buy mine :)

the steptronic in the BMW's are really quite good. Won't always listen to what u want to do if u reving it around 6000-6500rpm, say if ur going 100km/hr and u want to go back to 2nd gear, it won't change straight away. But that's an extreme example, normally driven, they will respond fine. Oh...and they change so quick, i could never change a manual as quick. I reckon they're a lot of fun....yeah it's for ppl who can't drive a manual, but also for ppl who can but can't be bothered. These a mainly business type ppl cars we're talking bout here, so in the city and stuff i guess a manual would sh*t u to tears after a little. The steptronic just alows u to have the kick there from the car, no matter what speed ur at.

BMW M3 SMG II, oooo baby... :drooling:

well 1st to 2nd, i can never seem to change real quick, not like 2nd to 3rd, or especially 3rd to 4th. But then again, i've only got a little Nissan Pulsar, it's most probably me but i don't think my manual gearbox is the greatest.
