Fogged Up Windows.

Hey

I know this might sound stupid but, I have an R32 gtst, and i work arvos. The front window is getting extremely fogged up, to the point where i cant see out of it.

Do i need to have the aircon on the front window, or the heater to unfog it??

both work, i use the heater cos normally when they're fogged up its cold too..

also if you smoke in the car iv heard the smoke puts sum sort of film on the windscreen that you need to clean off

air con on cold will clear it up quickest. But as above, if you it's too cold for you, use heat.

Basically, the air con is a de-humidifier, so it should be the most efficient at de-fogging the windscreen. Also, keeping the screen clean inside will minimise the degree of fogging in the first place. As well as smoke, the plasticisers in the vinyl of the dashboard can evaporate and coat the windscreen, providing a substrate for moisture to condense on.

oh BTW, I don't have an air con, I just leave a window down and usually that is enough to keep it clear (getting it clear not so easy)

If it's a hot day, use aircon. If it's a cold day, use heat, but have the aircon on. all the air goes through the air con element first anyway, and as blind elk said, it's a dehumidifier.

If there is no moisture in your car then it shouldn't fog up, usually if your windscreen is fogging up its because there is moisture in yoru car.. if it goes away after a few days then its probably just from someone/something wet getting in.. if its there everyday theres probably something leaking in the cabin.
