HI

I am seriously considering changing from my 33gts t to a 32 gtr... I am in adelaide and there are not many for sale here. I was wondering if anybody knows of any in yards in adelaide so i can go and check a few out and start to get an idea of what condition they are in and what to start looking for.

Any help would be appreciated.

Regards,

Matt

north east road has a few im sure. I cant remember their names of the top of my head but just drive along that rd and you'll see them, cant miss them. Them dealers stand out like a sore thumb amongst the holden, toyota and nissan dealers.

Mainly importers, but due to the massive influx of R32 GTRs the price has dropped significantly......so there would be a fair few private sellers that need money urgently, off-loading their GTRs at a low price. Mind you, expect prices to jump back up considerably by the time the year is out, following the new SEVS rules.

the market is really depressing atm. If you buy from interstate though thre may be difficulties getting it registered in SA, those who have brought there cars interstate correct me if im wrong. Although i know a few who have had no drama's ie duc - iceduck and andy - sir_gtr.

LOL, agreed jas.

I was shopping for a GTR for about 12 months. Until the day I decided to import one under the 15 year rule, I was looking at them priced between 28-35k. Two weeks after I signed up for an unexpected six week wait, the 15 year olds started appearing in the paper. :)

Lucky for you, theres quite a few of them for sale, and you can buy them for anywhere between 18-30k. Because its an old car, Purchase based solely on the condition of the vehicle. The interior and underbody can tell you quite a lot.

Your also lucky, because the flood of 15 year olds has had a signifigant supply/demand effect on cars aged 91-94, and you can now pick up a 94 model for as low as $25k. :)

Its a fact that importing is for the wealthy, you really need to have excess cash sitting around for the just-in-case scenario, and then theres the unexpected time delays involved.

If you look hard enough (check the for sale section) you should find some for about 22-23k in great condition :)

fake400r: What are your motivations behind wanting a 32 gtr?

What motivation do you need? it's a GTR ferchrissakes! The only thing that motivated me in the end NOT to buy one over what I have now was the age factor. But when I drove one i still fell in love! I'd buy one in a heartbeat if I had the money put aside to throw at it when (if?) things went wrong.

Their are many people asking way too much for 89 GTR's. I'm just wondering how many people are actually paying what they are asking or whether the sellers are dropping prices by much.

I totally agree!!! 89 models for 27k- no thanks! Specally when these people were picking them up for around 12-20k. Factor in transport, "compliance" etc: 5k (max).

Pentae could tell us more

When R32 come under SEVS we'll access to more R32 Vspec's and N1's although compliance is about 5k alone

There are some really nice R32's for sale on here couple of Vspec's and even an N1 but check the trading post as well!

But for a R32 GTR- 25k you can pick up a R33 GTR for another 10k.

I believe R33 is a softer more day to day car than the R32 and it is seriously tempting me! It will just take that little bit longer to save but you’ll have a more comfortable car for the day to day grind.

If ya looking for a track car- R32 is for you!

My motivation to buy a r32 gtr? Well i used to have a vl with rb26, turbos, autronic and all the fruit. Much fun and very powerful. However i didnt have decent car to drive day to day (i do about 450km a week) and the vl drained much funds too.

I sold it and bought the r33. It is very nice with trick paint and big wheels, but its almost too nice to drive all the time. Its also not fast at all. Now though i have just picked up a GSR lancer 4wd turbo for the day to day and have more money coming in so i thought why not have a really tough (300awkw) GTR in the shed and just use it to have fun in.

Anyone have a better idea?
