thommo
don't do it! the only reason a car should have a different coloured bonnet is if it is carbon fibre, or if you are saving up for a respray after an accident! think about what else you could spend the couple of hundred dollars on - new ebc/cam gears+tune/sway bars etc. etc... obviously this is just my opinion, but i honestly can't stand seeing a perfectly fine bonnet that has been sprayed black. any one disagree??? shif_tea
whoa man thats like uber posing. It'll just look stupid imho, sometimes i don't even like carbon fibre ones being a different colour. Ultimate waste of money i think Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/78649-wanted-pics-of-r33s-with-400r-front-bars-and-back-bonnets/#findComment-1435286 Share on other sites

NZM.031
i knocked that one up this morning. dont paint your bonnet...just wait and save up for a c/f one or a paint a f/b one black. there maybe a time when you need/want your standard bonnet, and you'll have to get it resprayed maroon, or find another bonnet. me and a mate painted our bonnets when we were younger, im no spray painter, it was ok, but by no means good, it looked ok from a distance. when it came time to sell the car though, i had to sell it with the black bonnet on it, coz i couldnt find another bonnet and couldnt afford to get it sprayed. you could tell straight away that it wasnt c/f, so people knew it was completly pointless except for looks. dont muck with your original stuff, its not smart. Nozila....how come you have a black wing then?? **JaR**
heres a pic i found: i like that bodykit ( veilside??? ), it looks tough, needs the rear bar and wing to complete it but.... personal opinion, carbon fibre or black bonnets on any car that isnt black or white, looks s***. browny
Personal opinion. Any bonnet thats not the same colour as the rest of the car is posing, regardless of what the bonnet is made of. browny
Hey can carbon fibre bonnets or boots be engineered? Gut feeling is that you would have an interesting time convincing an engineer that it would be safe in the event of an accident, however that only my opinion. You should ask an engineer. Theres a good one in Cardiff. slow13dude
Only paint the bonnet black if you're painting all the other panels black as well. Freeman
I rang the first Cardiff engineer on the list (theres two), a workshop called IHLE Werner Transport Industry consultants on 49565466. The receptionist answered the phone 'Good afternoon Turbotechnics this is..' Strange. Anyway the answer is yes bonnets can be engineered, forgot about boots tho sorry.
