nope i wuz just hoping that it wouldn't make the oil turn black as quick as the ryco ones do!!!

sorry mate wasn't meaning to be harsh.

The fact that the oil turns dark isn't a bad thing - it means that all the particulates that are floating around your motor are being cleaned and contained within the oil, rather than booting around causing additional wear. These particulates are too small to be captured by any oil filter anyway.

Don't forget that oil does three things"

1. lubricates everything

2. carries away abrasive worn particulates to the filter, and if the particulates are too small, then suspends them in the oil until you do a change

3. cools components

I would be more concerned if my oil was still pristine after 5,000kms of hard driving when i dropped it at a change - tells me the oil isn't suspending the crap.

:P

Where the hell is the best place to get oil filters in sth east suburbs?
Any Autobarn, Repco, Supercheap, etc. Z145A, from memory.
I am after a mobil 1 filter to suit R32 RB26s.
No such animal AFAIK. Mobil only make oil. The Ryco ones are more than adequate.

 How can a filter possibly make the oil turn black? It's residual "dead" oil that turns the (new) oil black.
