Compression question...

Hey all....

So how do i improve the compression in my cylinders to get them more even/ higher , etc???

hopfully not a dumb qu

How low are they now?

Probably need valves re-seated. New rings might help.

If you want substantial increases, then you are probably going to need to re-engineer the engine, using fancy pistons with high domes, etc.

Do a leak down test, dry first to establish the total leak down from each cylinder. Then do a wet test (squirt oil in each cylinder, enough to cover piston crowns and seal the rings). That will tell you how much of the total leak is due to poor valve seating.

hey thanks...yeh cant remember wat the figures were off hand exactly only that they were a lil low nothing major and some more off from each other.... was from a basic comp test...will do leak down asap
