Hi,

I'm considering buying a HKS GT2835 turbo but i've noticed that there are many versions of this turbo, eg. the GT2835 Pro S and I think just the standard GT2835.I've noticed that the flange types are different on these two models, one having a T3 and the other a T25.

Also, there are different A/R specs on some of the turbos.

Could someone please indicate which would be the better buy for a RB25DET.

Currently I'm assuming a GT2835 Pro S (so it has the T3 flange) with a A/R of 0.68. Is this A/R too small for my car? The other choice is a A/R of 0.87.

Any help would be great. Thank you

Regards

Steve

Pro32 - He specified "RB25DET"...

As an additional question (hope this is constructive for the guy who started this thread, otherwise - apologies) if one buys the HKS GT2835 "Turbo", what do you receive? Is it JUST the unit? Oil lines, dump pipe, etc will need to be made up additionally?

First thing first:

You need to get the T3 flange for a RB25DET, Greenline & Nengun sell the HKSGT2835 Pro S Kit (T3 flange) which gives you everything you will need for just under $4000

I think, but am not sure that the GT2835R is a T25 flange type which will not fit on your rb25det mf...

I see on nengun you can get the kit ($3125) or just the turbo ($2335). I was thinking cause of the price difference would it be better just to get the turbo? Cause surely with the saved money I could get oil/water lines made up and a new intake pipe?

Cheers

yeh its 25 as some have said

from the best of my memory, he got, turbo all the lines oil/water, dump pipe, and a hks heat sheild. it runs on the stock manifold. and it was the kit purchased from nengun, personally i think you are better off buying the kit rather than the turbo itself, kits are made to work

I've got the kit coming with the .68A/R.

You can't get the larger A/R one in kit form - I've tried both nengun and greenline.

If you get the turbo by itself you'll need to make a new dump, and probably new inlet/outlet. The kit comes with everything - new inlet, dump, heat shield, oil and water llines etc.

The .68A/R should give you over 260rwkw without cams if you've got the right other usual mods.

Good luck!

from dump pipe to cat is called a downpipe. When you buy a dump pipe on its own its usually just a stumpy pipe leading to your downpipe. There are guys who make custom dump/downpipes in one piece tho. My HKS dump pipe mated straight up to my 3inch downpipe which used to connect to the factory dump pipe.
