Hi Guys

Ive imported a fully approved 15 year old R32 GTST which now sits in my shed. Does anyone know if you have to have the car engineered complied and registered within a certain amount of time once its in the country.

I intend to do the work my self including other mods but dont want to got through Engineering cert and rego until 12 months down the track.

Cheers

I don't think there is a time limit.....but with these new laws...I have no idea. Worst comes worst, you'd have to comply/register by January 2006 at the earliest (that's when the new importation laws are enforced) don't know how that will effect compliance regulations...

One of my mates has an early model 89 model GTR in his garage, still hasn't complied or registered. I know there no exact time frame that is given once the car is in Australia.

you can have the car complied/engineered until whenever, theres no time limit providing you have import approval before the changes to the 15yr rule (you obviously have) so it's free to chill in the shed. Hope this helps :(

Mad Murf,

No time limit at all for when it has to be signed off, but if rule changes come in saying who has to do the work it is the only hitch you might get, you only have 30 days to register after passing inspection.

I will be at Technical Section at the pits on Monday and I will get a answer and post it for you, remind me still as I have a lot on.

After I get correct info I will give you details of who to get it in writing of if need be.

Nigel.
