I've been having trouble starting my car when its cold, usually after a long rest like overnight, where the car will crank and then fire for a second then just stall this may happen a couple of times and when it finally starts it wont idle or when it does it gets real lumpy between 100RPM and 500RPM, it has only been going on for the past week, and it sounds like either the cold start gear isnt working or the air filter may be choked, but im not too sure whats going on.

Has this happened to anyone else?

I will probably take it to a reputable shop in the next week if its open and ask them to look at it.

Does anyone have any ideas?

Hmmm,

Not good.

Things to check would be AFM, maybe give it a clean - there's a thread on this in the maintance section.

And I've heard that sometimes the temp sender can crap itself. So when it's cold, it's actually sending a reading of being hot, so the ECU adjusts the mixtures to a hot engine.

Other than that, maybe your plugs are clogged up???

I hope you get it sorted out. Let us know how you go.
